Chinese dramas is slowly levelling up to korean rom com standards. Hopefully more will follow this 24 episodes formulae.rom com should not exceed 30 eps or it will be draggy afterwards
My earlier impression of Vengo was good looking but with limited acting capabilities. That perception change ever since i watched Candle in the tomb WOT, he brings to life the character of Zhe Gu Shao & then as Dong Hua Di Jun in ELOD, i am glad he has put in efforts to improve his acting that he own this 2 characters, can't imagine other actors playing this 2 roles.

I agree now giving the drama 2nd chance & i am liking it. Love Vengo performance as DHDJ, he is ice cool & yet so touchy with FJ coz he just loves her. I get crazy seeing how he applies ointment on her neck and ask her to loosen up her collar such a sensual scene

If you watch without comparing it is quite good. I watched 2 episodes few months ago & didn't like it due to the high expectations On 2nd viewing its better coz i remove my expectations n stop comparing it to TMOPB
Giving this a 2nd chance coz nothing appeals to me at the moment. I felt that since my expectations has watered down, i am able to enjoy this better..some scenes can be draggy typical of cdrama but i absolutely love how DHDJ falls for FJ & showing all his thick skinned side it was sure fun.
Highly recommended series. Main & supporting cast did such a great job. especially love the action scenes from Zhe Gu Shao & Hong Gu Niang, can we have Vengo & Zhi Lei reunite as a pair in action drama, they are such a badass characters
Thanks for this wonderful recap. Me n my brother were huge fans of this franchise. A unique one of a kind comedy about girl power. Girl power is always associated with women having high flying careers, but this drama defies the norm & was the winning formulae
Hope she gets more recognition, she can carry different roles convincingly whether as the villain or good roles. Plus she has an exquisite type of beauty.

Hmm this is just my speculation, could it be the actor in modern world was also sucked into the dream world become Han Suo n when both awake n meet each other again they remember their experience n love.
A light hearted rom com with great chemistry from the leads, funny anecdote on gender reversal roles ( a breath of fresh air to see a matriarch society in power). This OTP reminds me of xing zhao lin & liang jie in The Eternal Love, sweet funny n cute.
