This drama deserves a little more recognition
This drama deserves a little more recognition. I never see it in the recommendations, even though I personally think it’s really good.Unlike many other dramas, this one has a solid story that holds up all the way through. It doesn’t rely solely on the romance or the two main leads. In my opinion, the best part is the first 25 episodes. We get this FL, played by Zhu Xu Dan, who is incredibly skilled in martial arts, but towards the end, we lose a bit of that. The story becomes more conventional again, even though it’s still well-written. It’s always interesting, but I would have preferred for her to keep that badass female role until the very end.
Either way, it’s a good drama, so give it a try!

I dont know...
Honestly i dont know how to feel about this drama...It's not bad, not at all but i dont know if its the production or the writing, each episode after the ep15 was more and more boring. The first part of the drama was very enjoyable, the plot of the war demon who married the FL and things like that was very good and then...Nothing, the story focusing a lot the support characters, many side story with poor writing, basic acting with no really chemistry and even the main story fill empty.

Sang Sang is the true main character!
To be fair, i'm not a big fan of the Arthur Chen acting, i can't tell why but that it. I started this drama because it's in the RECS of my previous drama: The Immortal Ascension, and honestly it's was a good adventure too. It's a big drama of 60 episodes, and this time i liked a bit Arthur Chen acting but we have to talk about the real main character to me : Sang Sang played by Ireine Song. It's her first big drama and she is so freaking good, very fast she became to me the character i wanted to see the most. Ireine acting is just perfect, she put all theses emotions on this character, the little girl who follow her master bt we all know she is more than that. Always smiling, working hard.
If there only one reason to see Ever Night it's for her.
The whole story is not really that big and even quite boring sometimes after EP30, i dont even remember some support characters because of that, maybe there 5-10 too much episodes.
Overall it's a good show, not a deep story like i wanted but Sang Sang/Ireine Song kept me watching. I hear there a season 2 but people doesnt really like it, i will give a try soon i think.

An Epic Adventure!
Before this drama i wasnt sure if i could like a show only about Cultivation with no romance but The Immortal Ascension was a crazy good adventure. You follow a peasant who is trying to be a part of the cultivation world and see him growing episode after episode, of course there a bigger plot and i honestly think you watching this drama because of the ML evolution and that it. Good writing, good production, i like the CGI, epic fights.
My only problem is maybe the episodes past 20, it's seems a bit rushed, this drama needed more than 30 episodes for sure, it's not bad but the global plot is not what i liked the most.
Whatever, you should watch it, its a nice adventure.

I was with them
To be honest, i'm not familiar with the Chinese Paladin games or drama, i choice to start this one because there Ju Jing Yi in, but it's a very good surprise. The 13 first episodes can be a little strange, you can think it's childish drama but not at all! Sword and Fairy 4 is about friendship and it's very nice writtenn and the acting is very good, episode after episode you see this group of friends growing and you start being you too a member of this group.
Of course it's a bit classic, the ML have a hidden power, but overall it's not even something very big in the scenario/plots and almost every trouble they encounter they deal with it togother. It's not a xianxia with CGI everywhere, big fights each episode, big romance or things like that. It's the adventure of a group of friends.
The ending is so beautiful!!
Very nice surprise, i dont know if the whole Chinese Paladin dramas are like this but i need to learn more about it.

A phoenix who never rise.
When i started this drama i already know it's not a big one and a top Xianxia but i like story with a FL who hide a power so i said to myself "why not giving it a chance".The first 10 episodes are very good, i very like the academy part but after it's going down very fast. Each episode is more boring than the previous one, the support characters are very bad written, Bad played, we keep waiting for the famous phoenix and even when it's come it's with a poor plot. The lack if expérience is very visible.
I'm not going to write much about it, its a random Xianxia, with good CGI, poor writing. The side story with the cooking princess part is the only thing who keep me watching till the end.

3 Ryan Cheng !
A couple of months ago i tried this drama but for some reasons i didnt liked the first episodes, and idk why yesterday i tried again but this time i liked very much it.It's not a big politics or even fantasy story, it's almost all about romance but it's very well done, even when they end the first big plot the drama doesnt fail to restart with a new very interresting one. Pretty nice chemistry between the FL and the ML, i dont know that much the FL so i will watch what she did before and after this one.
Good production, very good CGI, very good writing, i wanted more of episodes for the second part of this drama, it's very good.

A good surprise
This little 26-episode drama, with episodes around 10–15 minutes long, ended up being much more enjoyable than I initially expected. The sets don’t look cheap, the acting is good, the story holds up, and it’s especially funny.Of course, the story isn’t as developed as it would be in a longer, more traditional drama, but honestly, if you’re looking for something light and fun to watch while you relax, this mini drama is perfect for that.

Wu Jin Yan deserves better.
Although it’s not a particularly bad drama, I just couldn’t really get into it. I found the storyline and production way too ordinary, and there were no real surprises. Throughout the whole drama, you keep waiting to see Wu Jin Yan in assassin mode, but that barely ever happens. The actress is still as good as ever, but she can’t carry the whole drama by herself. The ML’s character changes completely within just two episodes, and his role completely loses its credibility in the second half of the story. The supporting characters barely have any storylines, and what little we do get is really not that interesting.
Honestly, these actors deserve so much better than this. I’ll just remember the first half as being pretty interesting and quickly forget about the rest.

A very cute Esport Drama
Since a long time i'have this drama in my MDL Recs so i tried it yesterday and damn, it's was so good.I'm not a big watcher of modern dramas but i used to be a big games player so i said "why not" and i started Falling into your smile and it's was a very good décision.
Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao are so cute together, i think almost every review can tell you that. There almost no toxicity in this drama, its all about Esport, Romance and cutiness. I really liked how, throughout some of the episodes, they explained the difficulties of being a professional esports player, especially the somewhat lonely side of it and how difficult it can be to have a private life.
I also like that they highlight the possibility for a woman to join an esports team, even though in reality there are hardly any mixed gender teams in games like League of Legends, for example.
The team with them as support roles are very good too, very fast we become a part of their team, i laughed many times with them, The supporting characters deserved to have more developed storylines. Of course, there are quite a few stereotypes and caricatures. The characters are all good looking, the FL’s best friend could easily be a model, and the obsession with beauty is still very much present.
Overall it's a very great drama, you watch it with a cup of hot chocolate and that it.
Disclaimer: For the people who after watching this drama want to play the game, you have to know some details:
-The name of the game is Onmyoji Arena
- Almost everything you see for the game part on the drama is fake, it's a mobile only game even for the Esport part, there no keyboard or things like that, it's here only for the drama.
-The game is way more slow than what you see in the drama
Falling into your smile is a collaboration with NetEase Games for this game.

Oldschool xianxia feeling, almost...
I just finished this drama, and I have to admit that I’m left feeling more frustrated than anything else. Although it aired from 2022 to 2023, it feels like a production that strongly resembles Eternal Love and those other major dramas from a certain era.It starts off pretty well, with the classic setup of the FL having a hidden power and the ML being rather cold toward her. Add to that the usual cultivation-based learning journey, and then the main storyline gradually falls into place as we slowly make our way toward the Immortal Realm.
The first part of this drama is truly fantastic. It has everything that usually makes these great Xianxia dramas so successful. However, once the first major storyline comes to an end, the drama quickly gets trapped in the same repetitive plots and conflicts. It becomes difficult to really follow what’s going on, and at times, it gets quite boring.
In this kind of drama, we also eagerly wait for the FL to discover her powers and actually use them. Here, even though that does happen, it happens far too rarely, and when it does, you never really get that sense of power. It’s often poorly introduced, rushed, and lacks consistency.
The actors do a good job, and the supporting characters deserve better, but they still do a decent job with what they’re given. The main problem comes more from the production than the writing, because the story itself holds up pretty well.
If you’re like me and have watched pretty much all the major dramas in the same vein as Ashes of Love and the like, this one might partially appeal to you, simply because dramas of this kind have become quite rare these days. You just have to be aware of its production shortcomings and go in with slightly lower expectations.
It’s still enjoyable. I didn’t watch 40 episodes just to say that it’s terrible. I genuinely enjoyed the time I spent watching it, even though there were quite a few frustrating moments.

A good surprise
Usually i dont watch drama with 24 or less episodes, especially when each episode is 20-25 minutes, they are almost always cheap with bad writing and acting. BUT this time i dont know why i tried this one and it's a very nice surprise, its still have the problem of being too short. The most important thing in this drama is the chemistry between the FL and the ML, very fast you forget about the global plot or side plots and you just want the scenes with the FL and Ml who are very powerfull. Even the set and the global production look very good, it's not cheap at all.
It's time to give at this FL a main role in a bigger drama!

For the first three episodes, I kept wondering why I was putting myself through this. The throne alone in the first episode shows just how cheap this drama looks. The wallpaper on the throne is badly pasted on, and you can even see the assembly joints. So I almost dropped the drama. But the story made me want to keep watching for a little longer, and in the end, I found myself starting to enjoy the two main characters, especially the FL.
Let’s not lie to ourselves, though: this is still a drama with quite a few rookie actors and some pretty bad ones. The drama is clearly going for a very comedic tone, and in some ways, it works at times, but the direction is pretty poor. I’m not used to this kind of drama, so maybe that’s exactly what people who watch these dramas are looking for.
I think the main positive takeaway for me will be the FL, who, with a bit more experience and better opportunities, deserves to be in a bigger production.

A refreshing drama!
At the first time when i saw the 7.9 on MDL i was not sure about start this drama but 7.9 is not a bad thing and i always judge my myself so i gave a chance to it.And honestly it's was a good surprise, i can understand why people are a bit upset, it's a very light story, no big politics things, no big plots, it's not even a big romance BUT this lighthearted story has its charm. You don’t often get to see these kinds of settings and environments, and the interactions between the characters are really nice.
It's not the drama of the century but if you want something light, with a lot of humor, a bit of romance, it's a drama for you.

A start of something but....
This drama left me with a strange impression. I really enjoyed the beginning, and I absolutely loved the first 10 episodes because I really like stories about characters with hidden powers who join an academy and do a group of friends. But very quickly, we end up with several different storylines being introduced, and everything moves way too fast. The whole process of entering the academy is almost brushed aside. When I finished this drama, I felt like I had watched the beginnings of several different stories, but that was it. I was missing that sense of character development and accomplishment, as well as any real depth to the characters. Very quickly, the drama moves from one action sequence to another, jumping from one situation to the next without really taking the time to properly establish the story.
Yes, it’s true that the CGI is really well done. It’s beautiful to look at, but that’s not enough to carry the whole drama. The writing has some major issues. It’s quite frustrating because, as I’m writing this review, we’re in a period where there’s a real lack of good xianxia dramas, and I feel like this one is such a waste of potential. While the first 10 episodes had me completely captivated, the rest barely managed to hold my attention.
In the end, I’m going to try to focus mainly on the positives so I don’t feel too frustrated. Ju Jing Yi is still as beautiful as ever and a good actress, while Song Wei Long is, as always, very good. It’s a shame they weren’t given something better to work with.
Now I just need to find a xianxia drama I’ve somehow missed so I can satisfy my current craving.
