Another masterpiece from this period
This week i'm on vacation so i use my time to watch some old drama who everyone said its a must have to watch, and i'have to say this one i almost cryed at the end. Story is great, actors are amazing, OST is good. You dont found much drama like this one who are that amazing! All this period with Eternal Love/Love and Destiny &co is fantastic.

Nice cast, boring story and extreme red flag ML
So at the start i wanted to wait all episodes before doing a review but honestly after 20+ episodes i dont think the story and production will drastically change. To me The Lament of Autmun is a big désillusion, i love Ryan Cheng dramas usually and Xu Ruo Han is amazing all the time but i'have to say, there no chemistry between them in this drama. The Lament of Autumn is part of the recent wave of dramas featuring extreme toxicity, abuse, torture, and much more perpetrated by the ML, And I’m not just talking about a cold ML, which is pretty standard in dramas. No, this goes way beyond that.
The story is very not interesting, i watch in X2 and even skip some boring parts, and each scene with the FL and ML is about how the ML is going to found a new idea to be toxic with the FL...Personnaly when i go back to my home after a day of work, i dont want to see that, i like a bit of spicy things but come on...
In the end, what is there left to enjoy in this drama? A few rare touching scenes between the two leads, a decent soundtrack, and this general feeling that the story and the overall situation might eventually get better, even though 20 episodes have gone by and that still hasn't happened.
I lets you judge by yourself because i think many people will watch it because of Ryan Cheng, i will continu a bit the drama, probably in X2 coz like i said the story boring me and i dont really like the republic period things BUT be very careful if you are sensible to tortures&things like that.

A crazy casting for a Masterpiece
Before starting the review i think i'have to say this : WTF is this cast?? We have Dilraba Dilmurat, Leo Wu,Liu Yu Ning,Zhao Lu Si and Alen Fang in THE SAME drama, how crazy is that? Even for the support roles the cast is very good.I loved every episode of this drama, even though it takes a good ten episodes before it really gets going. The level of acting it's a high level, the character of Li Chang Ge is a strong woman! The production is very great, the story is well written even though there are a few weaknesses in the writing at times, especially toward the end, as is often the case with Chinese dramas. Very nice OST and so much feelings happens!
It's a very good drama with an amazing cast, it's going to be hard to watch something else right ater this one!

A beautiful chemistry
So it's the second time i watch this drama and i still love it. This is not about a big story and a big politic plot or something like that, you watch Legend of the Female General for the chemistry between ML and FL! Acting is very good and it's just a pleasure to watch both actors doing their things. This is about romance with a badass female, its a great drama for that and we dont need something else. Was this review helpful to you?
A beautiful Drama
I just finished Ancien love poetry and its a masterpiece, like the others from this period its beautiful, very great acting, the story is not very deep but its good, a must have to watch like the Eternal love/Love and Destiny and drama lke that. The story is not big as can be Eternal Love/Love and Destiny&co but the alchemy beetween actors is so crazy, you dont see this that much nowdays. Was this review helpful to you?
A popcorn Xianxia
Honestly its a surprise but i'have a big pleasure to watch an episode each morning before going to work. This is a short drama with 12 minutes episode each and there almost no story BUT, like the prequel "Be yourself", it's a pure Xianxia popcorn with very good CGI.
You have the ML who have no power, he save a woman who is like the demon queen, she gave her an immortal bone for lets him cultivate once again and after that its just the ML who kick some ass each episode.
Its nothing serious but its fun, very nice looking, so ye for a short drama it's doing the job.
