I personally like to go for thise dramas which have older characters. But it all depends in the writing and acting. It really can go either way, depending on who writes and acts it in particular. That's why I don't like classifying dramas in two drawers. Instead I like to hold on to elements that appeal to me in a given drama. So for instance, while top favourites are usually those dramas which define me as a drama watcher. Mot will have something interesting but I end up disappointed where what I like is not exploited properly.

ah and yes I get your point about keeping PTW as clean as possible- definitely a good idea :] I had to delete a lot of dramas from my PTw lists, sometimes I wasn;t sure why I added them in the first place. I like your approach.

I like to have a really good story and go by summaries rather than cast when adding. I did watch Windy Drama just to see Jo In Sung, though. The Chaser had a good story, for instance. Ice World is also a pretty well constructed story. King2hesrts certainly had a unique story, that's why I liked it. WR is supposed to be cute, there are cute moments but it was really ridiculous in the presentation of the main girl and the plot itself was downright silly. that is, it had some potential, but it was poorly executed, the elements just didn't add up.I am waiting to watch Lee Soon Shin, if only because I am curious about Jo Jung Suk;s role here. I don;t normally go for the long family dramas. The humor I go for is the one in legal high, which actually is a satire. Oh I do take challenges: I have now challenged myself to find 100 dramas in which two or more characters are likeable.

You know, it's interesting to see how you start watching dramas and then you stabilise your interests. You sre eventually able to recognize what you like, what elements work for you and which do not. Rich man poor woman kind of dramas usually also invokve a love traingle. I like to keep away, but it's a good idea to watch example for all kinds to have an overview. Oh, I'll be curious to see hiw you like Getnelann;s dignity. Kim Eun Sook is a very good writer. From japanese mystery suspense romances I recommened Ice World right off the bat. It's very good, mystery is closely connected with romance like in hardly any drama I've seen. And just may keep you guessing enough.

Also, ocassionaly I just feel like watching something totally at random. Sometimes the surprise is worth the gamble too. That's hoiw I discovered some of my top favourite dramas, like jejoongwon, it was so invisible hen I firs watched it that it wasn;t even appearing in MDL ranks, these days it's doing so much better.

As for dropping. I drop when I am not liking when the drama is going. To determine that I usually skip a lot of parts in order to see how the character story progresses. Usually I can pretty much fill the rest of the gaps anyway, because dramas are predictable most of the time. I drop when I absolutley hate what I see. I also like to return to some dramas. Then I usually modify the ratings a little too. Wild romance is the one drama that was highly problematic for me. I found it vastly offputting due to ridiculous plot but it had its cute moments so I actually watched it, even though I fwelt I could strangle the writers. But sometimes....a lot depends on mood and timing. Or so it seems.

I see. I tend to trust my own institncts on that. A lot of the times overall ratings can't be trusted and low rated or hardly known dramas may really surprise me- I like digging up hidden jewels. I just choose what sounds interesting to me. If friends have recommendations, that's great too. Vampires aren't interesting to me, either. They are vastly overrated. I like time travel myself, though. I guess it's because I've always wanted to time travel haha.

I notice you are a careful watcher that is you don't let your plan to watch lists grow out of propotions. what helps you decide, aside from genre, which dramas to watch?

looking forward to it :) Nope, never done any article for MDL, I only use my blog and yes t is also a way for me to practice writing. I have ideas, but I just never have enough time ti ut them into action. I think I started blogging around half a year to a year ago but there were many breaks in between due to lack of time. I have an idea for a little something for MDL in the long run but I"m not sure I have enough time to work on it seprately from what I do for the blog anyway. I see Secret garden on your favourites. If you like that writer, try watching City Hall too. She is a very good writer and can create quite romantic stories. Despite slow start, it gets very romantic. For revenge plots, do you prefer the whodunnit kind of theme, or are the why did you do stories also interesting for you?

well, that one is tricky. There dramas that shouldn't be spoiled. It sometimes depends if the story is a whodunnit kind of story or focuses on something else. Like Mawang or Maou for instance. It's obvious from the start who did it and the story is not about who did it. Stories like quiz show are fine to spoil too, because even if I spoil the final episode there are still other stories, and I can watch them in peace because I first understood the purpose. In fact after watching quiz show, I jumped to final episode of quiz show 2 just to see what was the different. Then I went back and watched other episodes to see ow this version unfolded. The first quiz shows i watched without spoiling, though. I realise it;s kind if strange of an approach. It's stories like ice World that are not a good idea to spoil.

I know people are saying the lead male is not attractive but trust me, he's one of those characters where he doesn't…
yeah, he is good looking. of course he is. He's not the masculine type, either, but he is the handsome next door type to me. But I like his looks. For ideal of manly beauty...Song Il gook is the man for me, but Shin Ha Kyung is handsome in his own Shin Ha Kyung way.

Ah I have to sit down and watch Liar game one of these days. I like twosty dramas more, though. Perfect revenge plans. So stories like Maou/Mawang are likely to appeal to me, especially when they have complex antagonists. Thanks for stopping by; yeah, Yeona is one of my longest MDL friends and it can be fun to collaborate on entries. It's actually just a start- I want to expand some of the thubgs I do there but for now I only have time to write opinionated entries, overview of some themes or characters. Maybe in the future, this will change. Do you blog? By the way, I didn;t comment on that but you did very well with your flower boy article :) Thanks for Daniel Craig :D

Hi Aphrodity! Yes, I read some spoilers, I don't usually mind spoilers at all, they don't detract from my enjoyment of drama. In fact, sometimes I spoil myself on purpose. In order to determine whether the drama will pull me off I watch first, middle and final episode or at least beginnings of each,

the website's not bad :D well I like it too. it fits you somehow. i think the more we chat to people like we do MDL, the more we start to associate the nick with them, it's actually funny, though a bit difficult to explain. in my case i just didn;t want to be associated with some sites. i don;t mind that it;s a fsirly popular nick, but I think that it just has a negative ring to it. so, steeleye. maybe i;ll change it back, though, i will see.
