Hi! Ah, I wouldn't call myself an authority exactly 0.0, I'm just easily pulled into that sort of climate. As far as I've seen very few period movies from any country have a happy ending, but then I haven't seen so many historical movies. Shadowless Sword's pretty good as a martial arts period piece and has elements of romance, also house of flying daggers which is romantic - but both are tragic. For happy endings these dramas could be nice: Sungkyunkwan Scandal is a cross-dressing period piece with a bit of humour and romance. The Princess Man is definitely dramatic and very romantic. Jewel in the Palace is a great story with a good ending, but it's lengthy. I hope this can be of some help.

yeah, I am still wondering whether it worked or not and was it undermined at the end or not, that's actually the key thing I am wondering about because it changes implications of the message slightly. haha, but confusion makes your brain work. I like that in any storytelling medium be it a book, movie or series. But some of such are really acquired taste :)

ok! hmm. there is loads then. For crime movies try Memories of Murder, also sEcret Reunion if you like friendship stories. Oh yeah for dark movies try japanese movie Confessions, to mee it was a bit overdoe but it certainly leaves an impression. My recs for 3-iron and late autumn still stand, you csn throw in a moment to remember if you like bittersweet love stories-that movie is really quite nice. Shinigmi no Seido is an interesting film about Death. Herty Paws if you like animals and tear-jerkers; and in romance perhaps windstruck and my ssassy girl too.

Morning, Edinaa :) Must be good then! ^^ I am watching Tonbi- I LOVE it. It's a beautiful father-son story, absolutely heartwarming. Also I wanted to see if I could watch Kingdom of the Winds but from ep 1 it annoys me becaise I remeber Jumong and how he was patient in building the country, now his son is at the point of destroying it, and then the grandson has too many curses! i don;t think I can watch this any time soon, not even for song il gook. :( I guess maybe i can't watch any more saeguks with tragic prophecies for the time being.

I wanted to start kingdom of the winds...but the mere first episode made me stop. I think I have no stregth left for prophecies and curses, also it pains my heart to see how Jumong's son is behaving. The very first episode and the fate of the country Jumong had built balances on a very thin line. I don't think I will watch this any time soon, this sounds and looks far more tragic than jumong. I don;t have the srength....especially because I loved Jumong so much.

well currently nothing in particular. As for movies, depends if you like really dark stories or romances or touching family movies. Whatever the case I would give 3-Iron a try. It's a romance but not ordinary. practcally no one says a word throughout and yet it;s abeautoful movie. Late autumn is also a very good movie about chance meetings, a very good drama. For lighter things you could try hmm Petty romance perhaps. How does this sound? It;s difficult to give recommendations, especially seeing from your lists that our tastes are potentially vastly different but if you like lone hero-vigilante types, I would give Bridal Mask series a try.

Title Tonbi
I am in the middle of watching this drama right now and it is really good. I wanted to point out that this has…
You've inspired me to watch this. I just know this is my kind of story. I was thinking that it is Shinichi who would have been great in this role, but he did that in the special. Well, Masaaki is great too. This story is all I look for in dramas! I love this story. Not mindblowingly dramatic but a story about bonding and feeling. This is why I love Japanese dramas. There's nothing weird, contrived or nothing pretentious in this partiocular story, just simple feelings. Important feelings. I love it. And the father makes me laugh a lot too, he's just too much. Masaaki was really good for this role, he's got the expression to make it work. So endearing. Heart-warming all the way.

there is a new feature: newsfeed. when logging in you should have seen that If you click on it, you will be able to share what you are watching and more. it;s like facebook inside mdl. After logging in you will be able to see the newsfeed directly. when you navigate away and want to return, you need to click on "home" to check the newsfeed back, cool huh? :D

Hi Juniko. Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear about your loss and difficulties, but I am glad to see you're all right. Please be well. I am fine myself, thank you. Going on and off dramas due to work and drama slumps bt never permanently, I always get pulled back into dramas agin, somehow. Hopeless addict here.

I see, well then. From your PTW lists, rich man poor woman is a very modern romcom. The Vinyard man is a nice romcomc with Han Hyo joo but then again it;s about a countrybumpkin and a city girl, so not sure if that may be your thing. Tatta hitotsu no koi is also a sweet little love story. If you;re a little into politics you can try City Hall. It has a slow start but the romance is quite nice and the ending very romantic indeed. If you like Hong sisters, give Delightful Girl choon-Hyang a try it's about love contract which turns into love, essentially, but don;t expect much from the second lead. Uhm Tae Woong is a nice actor but you may not like his role in DGCH. How do these sound?

I'm glad to hear you are enjpying SoYoung. yes, I liked it! I felt the narrative was quite tight and flowed well, with the exception if the annoying live triangle. The indian Princess was much nicer than AhYo, but then I missed AhYo when she died, even though al her romance amounted to was pointless seduction for selfish motives and personal gains, whereas the HwangOk was constructively supportive. I really don't like two female leads in a drama. My favourite reltationship remais SooRo-Deukson and So Roo-his brother. I was glad for TalHae too, he and So Roo make for very good antagonists towards each other. Overall, I thought this had all elements of any good saeguk and it wasn;t too overbearing to watch, a nice change of pace. And Ji Sung really suprised me. Not sure what I will watch now.
