She did great in the drama and literally the amount of emotions she delivered was woow for me the drama was for her ! But you now fans always love to hate towards women even if they’re women themselves ! What irritates me is that they said she cried a lot like what she supposed to do when she had to portray sadness and they just praise cheng lei, look I love him he’s great actor and did amazing but a lot of fans try to minimize her compare to him while the last part of the drama the hard part was on her to deliver ! Its true when they said the women’s first enemy are women 😶

If we git by that then all actresses including zhang liying are the same they are short don’t fit to be fighters !You’re talking as if other actresses did good in fighter roles! All Chinese actresses that I watched before I had the same comment about them and always couldn’t accept them in that role at the firs Episodes but just accept them after times of watching cdramas and getting used to them! I don’t know why everyone now remembers to put the standard female fighter in scene!
The character is not a general who get through military process from zero her father is general so it’s more inherent and the director said they want different general feminine one. And the vibe of dominant woman who can control everyone even prince Annan is really suitable for her. And from ep 20 it shows why she’s chosen. Glad that they choose an actress who can deliver those emotions otherwise it’ll be a lost since this drama about emotions more than action. Anyway that’s your opinion you see her not fit while I see her as good fit at least She delivered the needed feelings so well.

He betrayed her if you forget, he tortured her ! And also she did that because they can’t be together and he’s prince! She killed a lot of his people even Yao ministers want her dead so how can she stay with him !

If you’re looking for action drama this is not for you it’s about love more. But it has a lot of comedy, romance, and emotions, it’s been a while since I laughed and cried that much so it’s up to your taste!

I didn’t exaggerate I I saw her drama it was the only drama I saw after long time and it was my first time seeing her or cheng lei so no prejudgement but really felt awkward in every sad scene she had especially when her mom died that was so bad that’s my opinion, for the foght scene she had the expression but I didn’t like the script of the scenes ( I hate unrealistic fighting skills they could do better but that’s not her fault) but other than that they didn’t catch my attention at all. And yes she seemed like forcing herself to me that’s not how sad scenes can touch the viewer. Anyway everyone has his own opinion in this. I didn’t disrespect her to clarify I said she couldn’t act in sad scene and that’s reality. Disrespect is when you comment about other's physique or appearance. I comment about her acting !

Look in other dramas I really didn’t like making 2ML obsessed with a woman he met 3 or 4 times. But in SL I can’t blame him they were childhood lovers, she loved him before that’s what make him thinking she’ll always be his friend and can’t accept the fact that she moved on so I kinda understand him. But the coming episodes about the main leads becoming enemies not about him.

She’s definitely not as weak as you describe her she did the emotions part better than cheng lei. But she was prejudged even before giving her a chance in every promotional video I saw comments hating on her (either toxic fans of lotfg or fans shipping her bf with other actress). No actress give the aura of fighting even zhang liying it took me episodes to accept her aura as fighter let alone song yi ! The drama is really good in term of emotions since it’s about love story. The last ten episodes showed why the director choose her if it’s another actress who can’t even cry I would be pissed but thankfully it was her ( for the first time I understand what cry beautifully mean she’s so pretty when she cry

I wasn’t her fan before I watched her in destined only and didn’t watch anything for her after that but after shadow love if there’s any love drama with her I am in she did very well.

Sorry to say this her eyes are the problem for
me she didn’t have expressive eyes ( sorry to say that she looks like she was forcing herself to cry) I don’t know if there’s room for improvement I didn’t see the bare minimum there !
Its the first time I watch drama without get touching like the revenge , sadness and love I didn’t feel them I am sorry to say this bit she definitely did not do well for me.

Personally I disliked most of fight scens there I like women empowerment but not making it unrealistic like the fighting of wolves or with the
whip, or showing her standing and ten men on the floor !!! They were cringe honestly but other foght scens were good but as I say it took a lot of episodes to accept any actress in fighting scens for me so she’s not exception. The fighting scenes in SL were not that good too but as someone who prefer reality I prefer woman with narrow than whip!
If she’ll improve or not I am not sure but personally I don’t think I’ll bring myself to watch her again especially in emotional drama

I am the opposite the sad scene in lotfg made me drop it at the end Zou ye didn’t deliver the needed emotions at all in the contrary I cried a lot in SL not because of cheng lei he was good in those scenes but in last part it was song yi who really carried the emotions, the betrayal, missing of her lover, sadness and everything was on point I really loved her here !

For me One of the things that pissed me off in lotfg and dropped it after ep 30 is the crying scenes of Zhou ye she is really weak when it comes to sad scenes when her general dies, when her mom dies and when her master dies I didn’t feel 1% of her sadness her face have no expressions

The drama is mostly about love not a lot of fighting scenes compared to loftg (even though lfotg lack too) but in term of emotions this one is waaay better. The emotions here is just and the acting is tooo good compared to lfotg

Hhhh I know right they really made the most memorable details in this drama 🥹

For the first time I left with so much memories stuck in my head from a drama honestly for me I loved the small details :
- That mansion full girls she adopted from the street
- he relation with her father, brother, friends, whenever she say goodbye to one of them made me emotional these relations were so sweet and Song yi really did good in them.

- when she danced with Jinan that’s the most beautiful Dance I’ve ever seen in
cdrama
- one the black man come to help and them fighting together
- and my favorite thing is that head of the enemy he gave her as present( such romantic scene ) 🤣🤣

There are a lot of thins but these are the ones who touch me the most

Do you want her to say Oh I am your wife ? With their condition ! He see her as scheming enemy he already told her I know those trick of women ! She can just trigger his memories and also because he tortured her I would do the same as her it was funny to annoy him knowing his temper !

She promised him to make him remember her if he forgot her and that’s why she’s doing everything to make him remember !

If you saw the last episodes you’ll know that it’s not only about being general if they choose an actress who can do a general but can’t even cry or deliver emotions it’ll be a waste for the drama and we’ll never love it this way. The director made her personality tend to be feminine more and personally I liked her as general just a unique style. This role is made for her in my opinion. Also as much as cheng lei served in this drama the sad scenes and emotional ones are nailed by her I never cried like this and almost in all her scenes! The

That’s what I do never listen to others in fact the dramas that I rewatched several times are not the most popular but for me they are the best

In every drama be it chinese or korean historical ones always the king has not the last say they always end up listening to the opinion of their ministers, so this is not new it’s always the same almost in all the dramas I’ve watched so it makes sense. And for Jinan he felt sad after she left him that’s why he wanted to stay away from court and he don’t want to make his brother in difficult situation so he punished himself instead. What they both do even if the emperors forgive them the ministers will never forget so they act on their own.
