I have to agree with the faults that you pointed out, but I find this strangely entertaining. This is an extremely predictable drama, but I can't stop watching it. Maybe it's because most contemporary Chinese dramas are shockingly bad or I'm addicted to the nonsensical plot points.
I already saw the Great Revival, which was one of the best chinese dramas I have seen (cinematography, writing and acting). Considering how dramas are more censored now, I wonder how good this could be.
Initially I thought of this as a typical fluffy Chinese drama, then I saw the final episode. I have never seen such a competent ending in a cdrama. It was as if thought and planning went into it.
I saw this drama years ago on DramaFever. The premise of this drama is what if Cinderella married the King instead of the not-so-charming Prince? Personally I found it really entertaining. I liked how the in-laws were regularly caught in their lies. I actually watched every episode (I usually skip through episodes of daily dramas). It doesn't fall apart in later episodes like Korean daily dramas usually do. I wish I could watch this again on a legal streaming site.
