I think he did heard JM voice that’s why he called out JM name when he wake up.Then he touch the tear on his cheek, SH is not crying so he could have guessed. Even though JM transform herself, he should notice her existence. He should be smart enough to able to tell bringing him back to life is not a simple matter that SH can do....

It’s just like Water God tell JM while they are playing chess. “One wrong move will lead to another” Seek for Power and Revenge but it just ruined ones happy life. Now, RY and JM remove all bad people and got everything that they hope for..but they are not happy at all
I know some of the fan are disappointed. But I don’t really understand why. Can someone explain what people are expecting? I think all the add on make sense (if you understand in Chinese) and it make the story better. They make 15 episode (45 to 60) from 4 chapters of the novel. Try reading the novel again, They are just few sentences that JM said. Like, I go and met XF everyday. I see him like this and that. One day, I heard heard Night said this. Reading novel is like we create our own imagination world and add on our own thinking and understanding. There is no way the novel and drama will be same because all of us expectations might not be the same. Anyway, this drama keep all those awesome part in the novel and did not change. Can’t we just watch this drama as this is just another creative version?
Unless this is going past 60 eps, they r definitely not showing the happily-ever-after epilogues. Too much side-character…
As for me, it’s pretty understandable that they add all those stuffs. If you read the novel. From XF death to the end is only 4 shot chapters. It have a lot of things that are not explained. We don’t know how XF became the Demon king, how he was save, and so on. In drama, a lot of things are explained. It’s not just JM and XF story. Actually I’m liking the way they add more. Like the part, where JM’s world become black and white (That’s the price that she has to pay) and They didn’t make Night come and save JM from river bank.

Just finished rewatching with subtitle to give me better understand... I found Night character pretty entertaining... (I used to pity him now I don’t) I think Night start to hate XF...In ep 36, when XF mentioned he did not want the throne because he found out about Night’s mother dead and mentioned he will not give up JM (because the deed is done and she already agreed to be his).
(XF should have mentioned those 2 things separately...when he combined, it sounds a bit...may be what he was thinking was ...since JM agreed to be with me, you won’t be happy even if you have her...so just give me JM. As for the throne, my mother wrong you, so I will give it to you )
However phrasing seems wrong and that was the first time Night start declaring his evil intentions. “Give to me and snatch from me, bla bla bla” and I found it pretty funny that he feel XF snatched JM from him. 1) JM belong to him because of the engagement between him and legitimate child of Water god&wind god...Will JM be the one who got married if wind god has child while JM is illegitimate child...
2) He did know XF and JM like each other. Even knowing the fact, he snatched her from XF by making Water god misunderstand they love each other. That’s his selfishness and greed from the start. He could just hold off engagement and try to get JM’s heart first but he choose to tie her down with the engagement (did he also not hope for XF to give JM to him because he give up the throne?) But when JM finally clarified who she love, he start to hate XF. Well...to be honest...it’s JM who betrays him. You can’t clap with only one hand. XF didn’t rape her. She can say no and avoid if she doesn’t like.
I would say he is not that pitiful if his mother did not die in front of him... it’s just if...if his mother did not die, will he really be able to give up on JM when she said she want to cancel the engagement? Will he not hate XF for that? (I felt like no matter his mother die or not, he would have become evil because everything start because he want JM)
At first he did say...XF I will only wrong you this time and take JM from you...but what he forgot is JM is not a toy without a mind...and in the end he end up taking everything including XF life...
Anyway now I see Night heartbroken. I don’t feel sad at all. If Night and JM did not engaged, will this massy relationship happen? Everything happened at wrong timing

No worries. I also did felt the same and skip some part while watching those episodes... they are like, dull and boring gray area to the dark wold. They are so annoyingly necessary... The story will get darker (become serious) Well... life cannot be always happy BUT, it will be a lot fun to watch. I’m enjoying it so much right now.
After watching episode 48, I found that it’s pretty fun to watch. A lot of things makes sense now. This is more realistic. Also I have never expected that JM’s IQ can be this good. They make JM smarter. She know what’s right and what’s wrong. (Book’s JM is a bit stupid...like she doesn’t care about XF killing her father and blindly save him as soon as she know she love him) No wonder, the put a lot of pitiful backstory for Night. He become crueler. He used to be a bit sweetheart thou.(the book’s Night is nicer than this one. This Night’s heart is so cold even for JM. I feel like he love her like a doll. Not as a life partner) Could it be...they make XF personality a bit soft because they want to flip his personality entirely different when he got to the demon realm? *finger crossed* What role will demon princess take? (Still cannot figure it out yet. She better start taking action... took too much screen time)
