If you like immature relationships that do nothing but text each other this is the show for you. A list cast, but F list script. This is what lazy screen writing and directing looks like. I adore Dylan and wanted to see how his chemistry with Bailu-but it is none existent and it is not his fault. There is just no dialogue or emotion from Dylan and we all KNOW this boy can act when directed to do so. Bailu is Bailu in this (I find her acting very 2 dimensional) but they just wasted Dylan in this show and I can barely finish it.

Only 7 episodes in and I am already so hooked and I am not even a big fan of Zhang Ling He but both he and Tian Xi Wei are doing so well. The directing and the writing are on point. Looking forward to this show and hope they can keep it going all 40 episode. Not wild about all the animal slaughter but the story is solid

It is very boring, also Bai Lu is miscast for this role, she is too fragile and petite Wang Xing role is meh. But…
It look me several episodes to get into How Dare You and I like it better than Jadewind. But it too is finally getting interesting, though in that series ML is carrying the whole show (love Ryan Cheng 🥰), the rest of cast is rather boring or super silly. Lately this is happening a lot in shows, the first 10-15 episodes are poorly written. Jade Wind is suffered the same fate but it is finally interesting now in episode 29.

People expected a romance-focused show despite the tags and synopsis and were disappointed.
Barely there…there is no slow burn, there is no burn at all.
On Unveil: Jadewind Feb 21, 2026
It took 28-29 episodes to finally get interesting…they should have written the first half better. I honestly don’t understand why half of the arc’s were included, they brought nothing to the plot, Too much time on death and gore and talking to the audience. Not enough on quality scenes that move the plot forward. Don’t tell us, show us. I would have like more time with the imperial god parents and more relationship building between the leads and the secondaries (who are AWESOME) and more scenes with her master. This is a A list cast and it has been squandered for the most part.

same thoughts! They're watching Chinese dramas and then complain about it showing communism ? There are hundreds…
As a retired World History and ESL teacher in the U.S.—and the mother of a current high school history teacher—I can say with certainty that our classrooms and media examine the good, the bad, and the ugly: colonialism, capitalism, and Western military failures included. I could take my lesson plans anywhere in this country and teach them without censorship, fear of losing my job, or imprisonment. The same cannot be said in China.

I respect and admire Chinese culture. But admiration should not blind us to reality. Propaganda is propaganda, no matter who produces it. Much of this thread reads as both ignorant and hypocritical—especially when it condemns Western atrocities while ignoring the tens of millions killed under communist regimes, historically and in modern times.

I will always speak unapologetically about freedom and human rights. Not because the West is flawless—but because the ability to openly criticize our own system without fear is precisely the point.
