I understand why you don't like the character. That doesn't mean she has to share that opinion, though. She made an assumption, yes. But that's not a reason to call her 'annoying' or tell her off. You could have responded in the way you responded to me, by simply denying the assumption and explaining why you felt that way.
I do however find your reasons interesting to read! :)
