Siblings fight all the time. Also, the Story is from 1988.A lot of things have changed in 30 Years.
My brother and I used to get into full on fist fights. That is definitely how some siblings fight. At least, from my experience. I didn't like it or Bora the first couple of episodes, but I didn't pretend like those things don't happen at all. It's a family drama. Family members fight.

I saw the reviews and decided to watch it buuuuuuut.....i hated the love triangle the current husband clearly…
It was implied from the beginning actually. At the end of episode 1 older DS is asked how she met her husband. Near the end of episode 2 we're given the answer through Taek's flashback. There were hints shown through the future clips that many(including me) don't catch on to on the first viewing. Like, when the older Deoksun complains to her husband about him not wearing the proper clothes for the cold, when the husband walks away when Deoksun dances or how the husband mixes up the winners from two different concerts( Junghwan who has a fantastic memory, he would've remembered). Those were references to Taek's previous actions.

Why does it seem that they are making Taek out to be slow? Is it like a so smart but no common sense kind of thing?
I read somewhere that it's because for some people of higher intellect, their brains are so constantly in thought of the particular thing they excell at that it's harder to do the simpler things. It's part of the reason why Taek needs to take sleeping pills to sleep even though he always looks tired. He knows he needs to sleep, but his thoughts won't let him. Something like that.

Honestly... I don't know why everyone says that this is the best Reply drama. 1994 was quite nice (didn't like…
Better production(overall), a more palatable female lead( for me), no weird older teacher in love triangle, a great neighborhood family, 80s music, both male leads are quite nice, etc. Honestly a heavy love triangle does not a good drama make. And the nickname and satoori seems optional to me. I do agree that a reunion would've been nice, but I still prefer it over 1997 for the reasons I stated above. While I found it entertaining, I just couldn't get behind the teacher brother being " in love" with her. It was weird. And the female lead acting like an violent, arrogant child on a daily basis was slightly annoying. That's just me though.

Loved it so much. It took a while to really get into it. It wasn't the slowness, it was just the ongoing dread that I kept feeling for the characters. I was just waiting for something really bad to happen. It took 3 sittings to finish the 2nd episode. 2 to finish the 3rd. But by the 4th episode, I was in and by the 7th I just FLEW through them. At the same time, I really didn't want it to end. The chemistry between the cast, the writing , the acting, the cinematography, the music...UGH! The music! Everything was so good!God, that grandma was going to be the death of me. Dong Hoon was going to be the death of me. Anyways, great drama. Not sure about the rewatch value because every episode drained me emotionally.

Nope, you're good. There are plenty of people that think Reply 1997 is better. May I ask why you felt the "really…
You're allowed to ship as hard as you like, lol. Junghwan is easy to love, at least to me. You haven't finished it yet, so I'll try not to spoil anything for you. I will say that the direction wasn't changed. It was decided from the beginning. You can tell because at the end of episode 1, older DS is asked how she met her husband. Near the end of episode 2, we're given the answer through her voiceover for his flashback . I have more to say, but I'd be spoiling. It is a good drama. It's not perfect, but I'd hate for you to miss out on the rest of it.
Would you mind putting a spoiler on your comment for people who haven't watched yet?

I think the main reason for the husband being Taek is because the writer changed it last minute. At that time…
OK... 7 months late, but I think this comment thread should have a voice of reason. The episodes are far too long to change the husband last minute. Taek was the only one that was shown smoking. In the first episode, Older DS is asked how she met her husband. She replies that they MET decades ago. Near the end of the second episode, we are shown exactly how she met her him(Taek, obviously) through a childhood flashback with a voiceover from Teen DS herself. That was never done for JH, by the way. The husband was always TK. People just gravitated to who they liked best, I guess. Also, NONE of the older cast acted anything like their younger self. Bora was too quiet and sweet, Noeul was short and cherished by DS, who didn't remind me of 1989 DS at all barring the dancing. So, the husband acting more like JH isn't necessarily a sign that the husband was changed.

But the elder teak's personality doesn't match with young teak..its more matches with jung hwan.
And DR, and SW and Taek. The husband had moments where he seemed like all of them."Are you senile?" could've come out of literally any of these guys mouths, for instance. The husband leaving the room when DS was dancing , was just like Taek. Him knowing things about DS that she didn't know he knew was like SW. Saying "Are you embarrassed? I bet you are", DR. The, " you want a mirror? " sounds most like JH to some people. But the husband never really acted like one particular person because the actor(R.I.P) wasn't trying to. None of the actors resembled their younger counterparts( including DS), really. Anyways, people do somewhat change in marriage.I guess that has a little to do with it. Sorry, for the long post, I ramble a lot.

Please stop underestimating Jung Hwan's love for Duk Seon. You may criticize him, saying that he never took…
Junghwan was great. Loved the guy. I more specifically love Ryu Jun Yeol. Big fan. But I gotta disagree. He was already having trouble with it just fine on his own.Every time he may have showed his feelings, he followed it up with a put down. Didn't really need Taek's help for that. Taek was just one of several excuses that he probably had that made him hesitate. No one is underestimating JH's love for DS. He loved her.Junghwan is a great son, friend and brother. But he messed up at a point where a relationship could've blossomed into more than just a girl's crush.

Wow I've been waiting two years to watch this ,and found out in the middle that Deok Sun ends up with Tae and…
Aww, you should finish it!There are like 3 other couples at least that you could root for! I can assure you, as much as it may initially seem like it, the writers didn't change the husband. At the end of episode 1 older DS is asked how she met her husband. Near the end of episode 2 we're given the answer through Taek's flashback.Anyways, it's such a small fraction of the drama. You'll be missing out on some great(non romantic) moments if you don't watch the rest!
