You don't need know any history to watch this drama. This drama is just about the communist party of china and what they did for their country even when their own government doesn't appreciate them

love triangle in this drama was annoying .she is not sure about her own love even though she agreed to marry Wei wu ji. Her love wavered when mo xun proposed to her after she came to capital again
