and from The Story of Ming Lan, you could see the life of the girls and the overall lifestyle in the ancient China.

Everything is well designed in this drama, from chereography to script to acting to the costumes. you could find the true emotions ,like in NIF, in the Story of Ming Lan. Not something superficial as the so called idol dramas.

depending on whether you want to just watch the art or just a drama, if you go for art, then choose nirvana in fire, if you just wanna watch a drama which is full of exaggerated facial and vocal expression, then you could choose six flying dragons, cuz it's easy for everyone to understand and immerse into it.

but that's what some people are going through, that's the reality. Not everyone has the life with fancy apartment car or etc. this show has taught us that we cannot judge a person based on what he/she is doing, because not everyone has had the advantage lie you have had. so we can be open to people and empathise with them. ;)

he is called Yongdai Ding(in chinese 丁勇岱). you know, as the most people here only care about the actors/actresses with good looking so the actors not young and good looking tend to have less fans. and many great chinese dramas didn't get translated just because there are not young good looking actors in them.

if you are interested i recommend you to watch the drama The Red, which got 9.3 out of 10 in chinese rating website called Douban. and this website is much more fair than here, just like the imdb.

I would also recommend you to watch the drama The Red. it's so good. because there is no internationally famous actors in that drama, so there are not so many people translating it

yes it's really a masterpiece every scene of the dramas is really good to enjoy. and the costumes are very accurate to the time of 4th century in china. from this drama people can see what the ancient china was in 4th century, though the story was written by the author, but the spirits are the things the chinese,along with the people around china like korea, japan and vietnam and so on, really admire. not like other fake drama, they just picked up some costumes with bad qualities and the behaviors in those dramas are really not how the ancient people in any dynasties in china behaved. if you like to watch the period drama in which the costumes and behaviors and others things are accurate in terms of history. you could see the legend of zhenhuan. :)

nirvana in fire, Wuxin: the monster killer, chinese paladin 1&3, the red(it's a pity the drama has no sub yet, really a great drama but without famous celebrities) Battle of Changsha

and chinese paladin 1&3 these two are also good, in which the main actors are Hu Ge and Wallance Huo.

i'd recommend you nirvana in fire, battle of changsha these two with LMIYD are the three of the the top 4 dramas. and i also highly recommend you to watch Wuxin: the monster killer, this is one of my favourate drama of all time, this is a master piece. and the theme songs are the best, i don't even want to skip the theme songs, while in other dramas, i just skipped them.
