What a horrible horrible drama... I was appalled with the ending. That would just devastate anyone... Just a real…
I don't think Naoko betrayed Heisuke.
Remember, she tried to persuade Heisuke to live together as husband and wife. Twice. The first time was during the first episode I think and the second time when she told her husband that there's only one way they could live together as husband and wife. Both times, Heisuke freaked out and couldn't go on.
Then later, Heisuke called Naoko by their daughter's name. Monami. When that happened, Naoko cried. I think that happened because she realized that's the end. Of their life together. If even her husband was not willing to acknowledge her existence, what else could she do?
I think the act she put on later was for her husband's benefit. He was happy to live a delusional life, pretending that their daughter's back and all.
What else could Naoko do but play along? I think Naoko really suffered throughout the whole ordeal.
Can someone explain to me the end? Is it that Monami never returned? Or that they both existed in the same body?
Monami never returned to her body. It was Naoko all along because only Naoko would know about the ring hidden in the bear. And that was taken out to be re-worked by the antique shop owner.
Naoko deliberately left that clue for Heisuke. She went to a shop that she knew Heisuke would visit to re-work the ring.
The whole act where Monami appeared was done for Heisuke's benefit. So he could feel at ease. Remember, what happened when Heisuke finally addressed Naoko using their daughter's name. Naoko started crying because her husband had rejected her existence. Their life was over.
So was she Naoko at the end or Minami? Because she did NOT look happy at getting married!
I think she's still Naoko. She knew about the ring hidden in the bear. And the look she gave Heisuke? Yeah that look. I think she deliberately left the clue for Heisuke to find so he could move on too. But yeah, she wasn't happy. I mean, I don't think she really loved the son of the man who killed her daughter. How could she?
did not like the ending one bit...Naoko still remained in the body and married a dude.. complete bs <.<
Blademan2-san, I don't think Naoko betrayed Heisuke.

I just finished watching the drama and there are so many things I want to say!
First of all. Regrets. There were so many things Heisuke should have done but didn’t! For example, if I were in Heisuke’s shoes, the moment I found out that my wife’s spirit somehow ended up in my daughter’s body, there’s one thing I absolutely will do right from the get go.
Sweep away Naoko’s regrets! Switching bodies is such an odd thing to happen and it could very well be temporary. So I was wondering why Heisuke didn’t ask Naoko if she had anything she wanted to do before, you know, her spirit gets forced out of her daughter’s body. Both Heisuke and Naoko were thinking that their daughter’s spirit might return one day, right?
So why didn’t Heisuke start doing things for Naoko? Like take her to watch any movies she hadn’t had the chance to watch. Or make sure she gets enough free time to finish reading any novels left on her bookshelves. Or engage in any hobby she had always wanted to do before she died.
Throughout the drama, Naoko was always seen cooking and doing housework for Heisuke.
Heisuke just rubbed me the wrong way. As an engineer, he’s supposed to be a logical being. Like Spock. But he neglected to sit down with Naoko to draw up concrete plans for their future. Just off the top of my head, there are several paths they could have chosen in order to ensure a reasonable level of happiness for all parties concerned.
1) They could set a deadline. For example, they could both decide that if Mona’s (the daughter) spirit does not return after a year has passed and it looks like their daughter will never return, then they must seriously consider living as husband and wife. They could even let Naoko’s family members in on the secret and let them vote on the issue. Exit or stay in the union.
2) They should have decided right from the get go, if they could bear to stay together as husband and wife. Since, you know, Heisuke was freaked out when Naoko tried to make out with him.
If the answer is yes, then they must both make a commitment to the Truth. Naoko IS Naoko. Not dead, because she breaths and eats and drinks. She’s alive, albeit in a different body. And they MUST acknowledge this fact. While Naoko must use a false identity in public, privately both husband and wife MUST look at the truth and move forward from there.
3) If the answer is NO. Like no way because Heisuke would puke during make-out sessions and Naoko would freak out or whatever. Okay, no way. They they must make the most psychologically-healthy choice for Naoko and Heisuke. They should both come to terms that their daughter died but Naoko became young again, thanks to their daughter’s body.
In no way should Naoko live as Monami. She should live as a young Naoko with fresh options. Sure, she has to use a new I.D. card now but who cares? Which self-respecting spy hasn’t used multiple identities? Let your KUNOICHI blood flow, Naoko-san!
Before she starts to date other young people though, she and Heisuke should divorce privately. So no regrets for either of them. They can move on with their eyes open.
But instead of following either of the above-mentioned 3 plans, both of them chose to grope around blindly, ignoring issues and so on and so forth. Naoko chose to live as Monami to allow Heisuke some space to move on, but she’s kinda passive aggressive. And Heisuke couldn’t move on but didn’t sit down with Naoko properly to talk things out.

So their relationship ended unhappily. :(
