I gotta be honest, 8 months in prison for a Grandpa cheek kiss seems quite insane to me. If he did do this obviously he was in the wrong, but jail time for it is actually crazy to me. Season 1 felt way more raw like people were actually there for the experience instead of thinking about what comes after. Now it sometimes feels like everyone’s playing 4D chess with their brand in mind I believe it's basically all fake at this point. The show is too popular and well known. No authentic ex's would join unless the payoff was extremely worth it. Hence it will skew to influencers. Also the mainstream requirement for physically attractive participants.
They are all here for fame, some more than others either to promote their business or kickstart their influencer/acting career. Jihyun and Minkyung are already signed to an entertainment company,Baekhyun is obviously looking to kickstart his acting career again, Woojin,Wonkyu and Seungyeung promoting their restaurant/clinic, YS promoting his dancing career and YY/HJ/JY probably kickstart their influencer career as well. No one in their right mind in 2025 would join such an established dating show even more a show like this with their ex, if they weren’t looking for a little bit of fame

Jihyun completely ignored real-life factors. It really just comes across like she didn’t put in any effort and just wanted the easy route of becoming a doctor’s wife. From Wonkyu’s perspective, it’s not that he expected anything material from her; he had already overcome a lot in reality and was hoping for marriage, but seeing Jihyun act like she didn’t care at all must have been hurtful. Honestly, how many people would be confident marrying someone unemployed without running into opposition, even if Wonkyu wasn’t a doctor?
