No it is not a BL Theme, if you watched the first one of Bad genius you would understand, its just about students who cheat on their exams and stuff. There really wasnt romance in the first one but who knows maybe they might add some romance in this one

Before Kim Sae Ron became the female lead Ahn Seo Hyun was in her place but Ahn Seo Hyuns had conflicts with the production staffs and the audition she had been preparing for the lead postion for months and she even participated in the script reading but their producers was still looking for a female lead even when Ahn Seo Hyun was the confirmed lead. So technically it got cancelled because even when she was chosen her producers were looking for someone else to take the position and the reason they kept delaying it was because they wanted someone else , after the entire conflict with her father the producers decided to offer the position to Kim Sae Ron. So they might actually make a "School 2020" or they might change a different broadcasting channel. Anyways thats all I know so far, I'll let yalls know when they release more information
