The real villain would be Empress LU , as she poisoned the fl and dies without giving them an anti dote.
Her brother does die , due to the same poison, but it’s after the events of the main story and after TaoHua does her part in making him the ruler, so it’s not a focal point.
Everyone is evil and crazy and equally as bad so i don’t even know if the Villains are really even the bad guys lol
I hope they’re keeping Gao Han’s character as similar to the novel as possible.
He’s the only person who has ever loved TaoHua without any ulterior motives and even when he thought TaoHua was a commoner widow he didn’t let anyone disrespect her.
And TaoHua almost, almost, fell in love with him when she was taken in as his Concubine .
It’s not ur average cookie cutter romance drama and i like that about it !
Everyone needs to watch something different once in a while, how many of the same man meets woman and his entire personality does 180 and he becomes a green carpet plot can one watch anyway.

I feel like they’re gonna change things regarding his character though.
