This is their usual algorithm: they hype up the male lead while putting down the female lead. But in reality, they're not even fans of the male lead either. Many people don't like xianxia, but even then, they should at least watch two episodes before deciding whether they want to continue or not. And these days, you can even watch at 2x or 3x speed. That would at least give them a general idea of what kind of drama it is. But elevating one person by tearing another down is a really dirty tactic. We don't go to the drama pages of their favorite actor/actresses and make insulting comments like that.

If someone has grudge and prejudice towards a cast no matter what she won't enjoy it . People should judge based on individual drama, Not based on previous dramas and her all previous drama bad acting not at all. How she consider fan of SWL where she didn’t watch any drama of him, casual and die-hard fans has differences. Check Profile.

Some viewers have very poor judgment. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but just think about it. A drama's quality depends on many factors: the production, directing, scriptwriting, the popularity of the original novel if it's adapted from one, the soundtrack, voice dubbing, costumes, CGI, VFX, overall direction, and, of course, the acting. However, on MDL, some viewers focus almost entirely on blaming the actors and actresses they personally dislike. They barely notice the flaws in the other aspects of the production. Some people with such poor critical thinking leave criticism that's so ridiculous it's actually funny. We may defend the lead actors because we're their fans. The production company and Youku certainly made their share of mistakes, but they still put in the effort to make the drama at least reasonably watchable. Even after seven episodes were cut, I don't think it's turned out that badly. I understand why some people complain, especially since so many Chinese dramas are released at the same time and viewers have plenty of other options. But making baseless or unreasonable comments is another matter. Some of the criticism I see is so absurd that it genuinely makes me laugh. I've been watching Chinese dramas since 2019, and the weakest, most nonsensical criticism I've seen has been on MDL. Maybe some people will think I'm no different, but I still felt compelled to say this because I've gained a lot of experience with Chinese dramas over the years.

They did the novel so dirty...they messed up the whole story so far. I was looking forward to this adaptation…
If you really read novel then share with us. Adaptation not mean it will accurately follow novel. All fantasy can't use for censorship problem or change story according to budget. It was filmed 2024 and originally 40 episodes now 7 episodes cut & also heard production company bankrupt. What they change in drama since you said you read novel?
