Firstly you used big production dramas with much less number of views to compare, then you picked an old drama with the views of more than 1 billion to compare. This will never end if you keep doing this because there’re many big production dramas having views more than 1 billion. This page is not suppose to be used for this kind of argument.

The fact that you personally don’t enjoy the drama because it’s not your cup of tea doesn’t mean other people don’t enjoy it. Everyone has different interest and should be respected!!! For the dramas that I don’t like, I NEVER put a negative comment to the pages of the dramas nor a low rating score because I respect other people’s interest as well as the effort of the dramas’ cast and production team.
As compared to Luoyang that you mentioned as the top drama, it reached only 30 million views after the drama finished broadcasting 39 episodes in 1 month. This means there’re less than 1 million views for each episode and it’s less than 1% the number of views of Dream Garden. If the number of views is not a matter, it won’t be used to measure the attractiveness or the success of a drama. Besides, as far as I know Dream Garden also is currently among the Top hit dramas.
The recent episodes of this drama has been criticized for plagiarism from the scene of cheese in the trap...
I saw this news in which there’s an argument that Dream Garden is based on a novel or story that was written before the other drama. So it is not plagiarism. I don’t know the accuracy of the news because it’s not in Chinese but was translated. However this is still a controversial issue.

Agree!!! In episode 7, I was pretty sad because of the story relating to psychology but the cute and funny interaction between Lin Shen and Xiao Xiao helped me regain my mood well.

All the dramas of Gong Jun that were aired after Word of Honor were filmed before he is popular. He has no agency behind his back to help him get good dramas all the time.
Dream Garden is a good drama with small production but if you don’t enjoy it, it simply means the drama is not your cup of tea. Similarly, I used to like Wang Yibo in The Untamed but I can't enjoy any of his dramas after The Untamed including Luoyang. As for the top dramas that you mentioned, I'm not interest in any of them neither because those are not my cup of tea.
If you want to compare Gong Jun' dramas with big production dramas that the actors filmed after they popular, you should wait for Legend Of Anle or Rising With The Wind because Gong Jun accepted and filmed these dramas after he is polpular!!!

As far as I know, Gong Jun accepted this drama before he is popular. Besides, this is a short drama that is only aired 2 days/week. So far the drama has been aired only for 4 days and only 6 episodes have been release. Therefore, in my point of view 500 million views in only one of three main platforms that broadcasting this drama is a success.
Gong Jun appeared in the birthday livestream of Chen Kexiao, one of the actors of LOA. Gong Jun also gave him a birthday gift and sang Happy Birthday song for him. So glad to see how well Gong Jun gets along with other actors of LOA!!! 🥰
