It was a great approach to the ex-partner storyline—instead of forcing him into the plot just to be there and annoy the audience or hurt the characters, etc., they made his return feel like a kick in the butt and brought the characters closer together.

Okay, first of all, I thought that scene at the end of the episode was great, but I think it’s cool that we have such a calm scene in contrast to their personalities and their whole relationship, and I really like the idea that we didn’t get the whole scene in episode 5—because usually NC goes full throttle, sometimes even right at the start of the episode, but here it’s different which is, however, a refreshing and I think we’ll get a more intense scene somewhere later on.
