Zhang Kangle played Xiao Shen in this drama, and he also played Chu Zhao in Legend of the Female General (same novel author). Cmiiw, as far as I remember, there are no A Lan and Xiao Shen characters in the QSCK's novels. The dynastic settings are also different in each novel, TG (Ming), The Double (Song), and LOFTG (Wei/Liang). Based on the novels, there's probably no connection between the characters. I haven't read the novel this drama's based on, so I don't know if those characters are in the book or not.
There's one thing I still don’t get (I’m on ep 18 rn). Have they explained why Fyx became Pdf’s adopted son? We knew Zsy was his favorite student, but what’s the reason Pdf took Fyx in? Did I miss smtg or has it just not been revealed yet?
