They get together in ep 28, however like the previous comment said, there are misunderstandings after that as well. It's worth to root for our main couple!

So that XJ can rmb SF in the next life, but she doesn't, as she drinks the forgetting water. It is said that SF does not drink the forgetting water after he dies so he remembers XJ in every new life. He only drank it after the 9th life when he felt there was no more hope that XJ will remember him.

Actually if you scroll down to the older comments, this part of XJ has been discussed many times. XJ learnt most of her emotions from Linglong and Sifeng. The author actually used certain terms /sentences to show that she's different from her peers. And a lot of it might have been lost in translation. If you would like to have the best subs, Productive Procrastination has the best subs, and she even adds some background details about Chinese mythology :)

And Cheng Yi's real name is Fu Shi Qi, which most fans call him Qiqi

Was really looking forward to that wedding scene too ): But am still glad they gave us such a satisfying and wholesome wedding!

Am rewatching certain scenes and realised the scene where XJ first asked SF what were the small circular thing (dragon seal) and his eyes started to wander in ep 31 were the exact same scene as when they kissed in ep 52 and he had a voice over saying that he isn't sure how much longer he is able to live and he does not want to ruin XJ. Just that in ep 52, it was a close up of his face. Such a pity that due to restrictions, they had to cut the extended kiss scene and replace it with the exact same scene as shown in the earlier episode.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the drama so that more people will know about it! Agree with most of the points you mentioned. Regarding the backstory of Dijun and Tengshe, there was a scene where Tengshe said that only Dijun can pet his head. This was actually mentioned by another viewer a few months back. We believe that was the slight foreshadowing. However, I do agree many parts were cut off due to the restriction of xianxia dramas having limited number of episodes ):

If I'm not wrong, Viki and the YT channel provides the same subs. Not too sure about Netflix or Amazon Prime. However, there's a fansub which most of the older fans agree that has the best subtitles as it also contains tidbits/notes about the episodes as well as some Chinese historical context :) This fansub also subbed some BTS videos on her youtube channel as well.

Regarding the heart lamp, SF didn’t know she managed to grow it hence it wasn’t lifted.
I read a comment before saying that the lover’s curse was only lifted after XJ loved SF for who he really is.

In ep 24, HC gave XJ some sort of flower of blessing after she blocked SF from the demon whip. I believe this was what she gave SF in ep 29

XJ has the best character development in my opinion! It’s great to watch her grow and mature

Actually I’ve not watched a drama w Li Yi Feng before too haha. But seeing that he was the top few topics on Weibo a while back made me interested to watch his upcoming drama :)
