L&R is really a gem to me too, loved it to bits that I'm still watching parts over and over again. Looking forward to Ancient Love Poetry and Mirror:Twin Cities next year! Ancient Love Poetry is directed by L&R's director and it stars Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu. I have high hopes alr haha. As for Mirror:Twin Cities, their trailer got released about a month back and it really seems good!

I believe it was to remind XJ in her next lifetime to rmb SF. However sadly in each new lifetime, she forgets about him. It is also said that at the end of the 9th lifetime, SF drank the forgetting water due to being disappointed in all previous lifetimes, hence he forgot about XJ completely until they met again in the 10th lifetime.

During those 9-10 eps of misunderstandings, the angst is def quite heavy. So do brace yourself as there are sweet moments after that. From what I recall, there is another small misunderstanding (about XJ liking MY again) around the later 10+ ep or early 20 but it was resolved within a few eps. Hope this helps :)

Am rewatching the entire drama for the 2nd time and slowly realised that XJ’s hurt and anger towards SF when she found out he was a demon was not without reason. She was betrayed by the heavenly realm (Haochen) due to Haochen’s schemes and lies and was cast down to the mortal realm when it was not even her fault. Hence when SF said such hurtful words to push her away and his lies (though it’s to protect her), it’s understandable that she feels betrayed again. What more by from the person she loves so much.
She often said 我的司风不会骗我的 (my SF would not lie to me), yet SF deceived her in order to protect her. Viewers may think that she was very selfish to have ultimately stabbed SF but after thinking through, I also kind of understand why she did that.
And I think that is why LAR is such a favourite in my heart. This drama brings you through so many different emotions as well as remind us about the prejudices that we may have unknowingly formed towards people. Love LAR so much and hope others will feel the same way! :)
