I have only just started this drama and I find it beautiful! The story is simple but endearing. I love the leads and the exploration of their different personalities and the ways they handle their emotions. I really related to the male character lead. He is someone who is sensitive but isn’t weak. He is full of emotion and is truly kind and not afraid to be himself. In a world that tells people kindness and being full of emotion is weakness, this show depicts how beautiful it can be. I like how this drama touches on masculinity and how men who are a bit more on the emotional side, who are a bit more quieter are often seen as weak and not manly enough. Yet the female lead challenges this thinking. I also love how it shows her more tougher side but also showing the need for her to let go and be open and vulnerable with how she feels. I’m great full for a show showing true kindness, attentiveness and not stereotyping male and female personalities and characters. I’m excited to see how this drama evolves and how they bring out the best in each other. I know this drama may not be everyone’s cup of tea but this drama has truly impacted me, in the way they love and treat each other.
I had a nightmare last night some organized hate group dug out some nasty dirt on Luo Yunxi and Chen Feiyu and…
I just hope that nothing happens in the media to both of them because it seems like with every bl drama in China there is stuff dug up or attacks on the actors such as the Untamed and Word of Honor.
I feel that in the real world cheating does happen, although it’s not right it does happen and so I feel that this show is realistic. Oh had a right to not date him or to still chose him. Only time can prove if teh has changed but I believe he has. He realised he was selfish and even admitted he destroyed them.
Also in the acting world when playing a character it is easy for your feelings to be aligned with the character and that can blur the lines. Jai was giving him everything he knew Teh wanted in a person, he even read his journal so he knew how to manipulate him. Teh was weak and stupid yes and was to blame. But I could see as he was standing at the beach alone he was reflecting and accepted loosing Oh. He had matured and realised his mistakes. He seemed sad but at peace. I feel like he wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.
In a sense I feel that this season is painfully raw and real. In teh dating also someone else, he dated that person thinking that this was what he wanted. Someone that shared the same dream as him. Which is what he Oh to be like. However through dating someone else he was able to realise he was wrong. He finally understood. He then broke up with her and even apologised which is something he doesn’t usually do but it shows he matured.
Oh Forgave him also. I feel like forgiveness is a big part of this and has a very important message. Teh through his messages apologised a lot, even stopped expecting him to reply but still wished him the best every chance he could get. He even explained in the play that he cheated with someone he thought he wanted. The important thing is that Teh realised, apologised and respected Oh’s decision no matter what. They realised not to make unrealistic expectations anymore but to take one day at a time and to communicate better to solve their problems. It was a sign of mature love. As you get older people in relationships can change, a lot. It can cause people to think that they have fallen out of love because they don’t recognise that person, they can become vulnerable. However I do believe people can change, not everyone but it is possible and that’s the beauty in forgiveness and trust.
This doesn’t glorify cheering. Teh is an imperfect person just like many people in this world. Not all relationships are fantasy and there is a lot of things we don’t see. Some people that cheat can be toxic but others may not be but had made a huge mistake. Or maybe they was but after w few years matured and had grown up after meeting different people and following what they think they want only to realise they was really wrong. Part of Oh saw that Teh had changed but was scared. Scared of being hurt again. However what was important was that he decided to see if he had changed and the only way to see that is to try again. Under his terms. This was Oh’s choice and I respect it. I feel that this show is a very mature bl. Not everyone will understand it but for other they will lead a lot from this.
