It's interesting that Zhan Zhao has made such a turn, and I imagine as we learn more, it's only going to make more and more sense why his attitude had become the way it did.

Jin Zhenping, with every single word, and every single scene, the guy is revealing himself to be bigger and bigger scum. And the old guy is actually shielding him from taking responsibility... And then he acts as if Bai Yutang should protect the Jin family's reputation, as if he had any reason to. And even threatening him. That whole family deserves to fall down from its pedestal very, very hard.
Still loving Zuo Ye's performance here. Even if it's a small role - although bigger than I expected it to be when I found out he's here - a part of me is almost sad to see the arc coming to an end.
Obviously, Zhan Zhao is not dying yet. I am now unsure whether I want them to figure out a way to cure him, because it would be very sad for him to be killed off at the end of this drama, or if I actually would like to see a drama make such a bold move, even if it will probably be quite devastating.

Honestly, every single episode makes me think Bai Yutang having nothing to do with the Jin family for however many years is probably the best thing that happened to him.
The Jiangs are not much better. I knew that lady was suspicious from the moment she approached Linglong and I agree with HLL - they all speak about feeling sorry, about feeling remorse, but when it comes down to actually doing something right for a change, it all suddenly vanishes.

It’s actually Bai Yutang’s Fourth Aunt that’s the woman in white? :O Now, that is a surprise, She was pretty suspicious from the moment they asked her about that embroidery. Her evading the question was something I put on her being pressured by Jin Zhenping, but now it might be even more tangled up.
Poor Bai Yutang, the one person he thought was good in the whole family…
Also, I’m wondering… Was it mentioned if the poison causes anything other than hallucinations? Because I get that Bai Yutang is seeing things, but if it was just that, wouldn’t he reasonably be able to deduct that he’s hallucinating?

No, I agree. That's what I'm thinking too - the brother is either innocent, or if he actually by some chance was somehow involved, he was a victim just as much as anyone else.
And 100%, there's no doubts that Shao Jizu is only after the treasure and never actually cared about Huo Linglong. It's been rather clear from the start. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in the earliest episodes but he quickly made it clear that nope, he didn't deserve it :)
Aww, the scene by the fire has absolutely melted me. Ming Zhu’er offering Bai Yutang to teach him how to swim, the whole group being supportive to Bai Yutang just because he’s one of them, and just being there for him… That’s exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for with this drama when it comes to the interactions between the main characters, and I hope to see more similar scenes, for all of them really.

Oh, the girl killed back then was Huo Linglong’s aunt? I can’t say I’m very surprised, though I had discarded that as a possibility. I suppose it makes sense that they would lie to her when she was a child. So I guess the current arc will be about getting justice for both, Bai Yutang’s brother and Huo Linglong’s aunt.

The aunt trying to convince Bai Yutang to let it go because Jin Xuewen confessed… Oh, yes, that’s definitely very convincing to me because they really wouldn’t do anything in their power to make him confess whether he actually committed the crime or not. Like, threatening him with his brother’s life or something along the lines. Why are you two acting as if that piece of paper solves everything?
It’s either the guy being a scapegoat, or the test subject for the poison that they are using to control people and he killed the girl under its influence. At least these sound like the most credible explanations to me now, given I don’t expect them to reveal that Bai Yutang has been wrong all along and his brother did actually murder the girl in cold blood. Especially when the knife appears to be a set with the one Si Ming has.
At least Zhan Zhao is showing some reason, which I guess makes sense since he is the only one not directly connected to either side of the murder case. The officials in the court are not acting suspicious at all. And Si Ming revealing himself like this… Isn’t that just inviting trouble? But of course, the lead he gives is a dead end. Zhan Zhao, who do you think the person you are looking for is other than the very same person who sent you on a wild goose chase?

Right, I have considered that he might have done it mainly for the sake of his sister, wanting to get to Jing Yiming before her so that she wouldn't have to take the risk herself but when you put it that way... I guess it would also make sense if, despite knowing he stands no chance to actually win, he still did everything he could to injure Jing Yiming and at least increase his sister's chances.

I can’t say I’m surprised to see Ding Yuehua kill Jing Yiming herself, or really blame her for wanting to do it herself, especially with everything we had learnt about her so far, but at the same time I find it interesting because out of all the people, I’d have expected the Dings to trust in Zhan Zhao’s promise and ability to bring the guy to justice.
The story reminded the Granny of a different one, huh? As if it wasn’t obvious who exactly she was speaking about even before she mentioned the damaged eyes. Zhan Zhao really has a silver tongue, though; charming women of all ages left and right lol Though, I guess I have never really paid that much attention to it, the majority of the people in Hanshui Gong do seem to be mostly women – it makes me all the more curious how Mr. Zhang Ri found himself there.
