That's what I'm shamelessly hoping for as he's pretty much the main reason why this title was added to my list…
Oh, me neither!😭 Or Moonlight Mystique, which may have been a tiny bit better than LITC in terms of his screentime but still

Something I truly hope that once this thing finishes filming that it gets outsourced to another platform and not…
100%, I'm hoping for the same. They may have some really nice dramas but it's so difficult to watch them before they are brought to other platforms.

Title Blossom Spoiler
I just finished watching this drama and I’m really unsure what to think about it. I really enjoyed it for the most part but at the same time, there were moments and plots that I found really tiring.

Most of the time, I’ve been waiting for Dou Zhao to tell Song Mo the full truth about how she knows things. I expected it would be a moment that shows their relationship’s strength and everything. Not that they didn’t show it in different ways, but still.

I’m not sure what exhausted me more - the Dou family drama, or the Song family drama. Next to the whole big conspiracy, they gave a lot of screentime to these things and while I’m not saying they weren’t important, there were some plots that I wished would get more chance to shine.

That said, Dou Zhao’s father finally growing some backbone and choosing to side with Dou Zhao, leaving the choice of who she is going to marry to her was something I really enjoyed. And the scene with half the town showing up with geese to propose marriage was hilarious.I liked the contrast between his ā€œredemptionā€ of sorts and Song Mo’s father, his choices and actions.

On the flip side, I really didn’t enjoy Song Han’s plot, and his marriage to Miao Ansu. I wish they limited the screentime for this relationship and instead, showed more scenes for Chen Jia and the cousin. And, at the end, when Song Han was finally gone and we saw Miao Ansu being bombarded with marriage candidates, I was kind of hoping for Wu Shan to show up. As one of the few nice guys in this drama, he really deserved more (though, it may be just my bias towards Quan Yilun speaking lol).

Now, for the whole big conspiracy, treason and support for Prince Qing plot… I found it interesting at the start but then, it started to tire me. The more we knew about the whole picture, the more it felt like it was dragging. The highlight for me was probably the reveal that Ji Yong has been a double agent.

Definitely a good drama but I would have enjoyed it a lot more with fewer incredibly annoying characters and a bit more dynamics to some of the plots.

I finally caught up and aww, that was such a cute ending.

I started this knowing nothing about the plot, having never watched the animated version or the previous drama. I fully expected this to be a silly little thing and while it certainly had its silliness, it actually had so much more than that.

I'm surprised by how many people they actually ended up killing - some unexpected, some kinda expected. When it was revealed that Xiahou Dan that Prince Duan showed to everyone to convince them that he died, I had no doubts it had to be the Bei guy, and I think he was the one whose death made me the most sad T__T

I originally didn't have much expectations, decided to give it a try because of Cheng Lei, and I ended up enjoying it way more than I thought I would. Such a nice surprise!

As happy as I am to see the witch finally gone, the Empress Dowager's death was so... underwhelming T__T I hope that at least Prince Duan's end is going to be more satisfying.

When she brought the physician with her, I was hoping he would actually find a way to heal the Cen guy. I guess prolonging his life is something but eh, he's gonna be another character that dies, isn't he?

And ooh, the teasers for the next episodes! Doesn't the voice of the woman in white caught in the net belong to Xie Yonger rather than Yu Wanyin, though? And the letter... I already can't wait for that.

He couldn’t kill her; or Prince villain would say the Yan ppl did it and they could have peace talks. He’ll…
Yeah, I know, plus it wouldn't be quite the same when it comes to revenge. She made him suffer for so many years, so it's only natural he wants her to suffer, too. I still want to see her dead lol

And yay, I'm already looking forward to that. :)

Damn, I was hoping we would finally be rid of Empress Dowager. I guess you could say she is half gone, not quite as annoying when she's not able to speak or move on her own, but I'd still prefer for her to have stayed in that tomb.

And just what is so bad about telling Yu Wanyin the truth about how he knows all these things. I'm guessing it's supposed to make her angry with him when she finds out later so that there's drama in a relationship but seriously, there's only so many episodes left, she has to find out sooner rather than later.

I kinda can't wait to see Prince Duan's reaction when he finds out that the warrior he has been looking for this entire time is the woman that hangs around the Emperor all the time lol

Title How Dare You!? Spoiler
She suspects Xiaohou Dan, I'm pretty sure it's her maid that is leaking things to Prince Duan, even if it may be limited amount of info. I may be wrong but with her so stuck on the idea that Yu Wanyin has feelings for her, and the scene where they walk just where the guy appears moments later, it just feels this way to me.

I find it funny that she thinks his lack of knowledge in economy gives him away - is it really so uncommon for people in charge of companies, to have no clue how to run a business, so they would just drown if they didn't have others help out? Not that she was wrong, apparently, but it doesn't seem like that good of an explanation to me lol

And was he there for such a long time that he remembers having been taught to write characters? Interesting, that would mean that he was actually the cruel, uninterested person that everyone remembers,. Although, I can imagine lack of interest if he was just waiting for someone to appear and end the whole thing so he can go back to living his life, plus the headaches.

I came here, fully expecting something silly and light, and while it certainly is that, it's quite interesting too. Looking forward to next episodes.

You always have to take synopsis with a grain of salt. I mean it’s the same on the channel as well or the app…
Obviously, when it comes to synopsis, but it just feels like a synopsis to a completely different title if it wasn't for the names. I've decided to give it until episode 10 and see if it picks up; I figure beginnings can be slow but by the time I'm a third into a drama, I should be hooked on something, be it cases, personal plots, or anything else. Worst case scenario, it just isn't for me and I'll dip.

I'm still unsure how to feel about this drama. A part of me feels like I was lied to, when the synopsis talks about difficult, complex cases. How are they unusual, how are they complex? They're barely there most of the time...

The only thing I'm sure about is that I'm so sick of this love triangle, especially when it's taking around half of the episode. The friend is just delusional and pathetic, saying she can wait - childhood friends or not, but if someone was acting this way towards me, I'd have cut contact with them by that point. Just get the darn message.

That said, when we FINALLY get to the case, I find it funny that they clearly had characters written on the walls in what I assume is the victim's blood and then they go and blur them. What's the point of this message then? And then, when they show a picture of the victim, her clothes soaked in blood, it's fine. They have very funny standards of what is ok to be shown and what is not lol

So they're flipping the script on who's good and interesting who's evil?
It looks this way, although I suspect the perception of who was good and who was evil in the novel might have been a bit inaccurate and biased based on the perspective of who was the FL in the novel. That's the vibe I am personally getting based on some of the remarks etc.

I'm not sure I understand the idea of Prince Duan being a real person of a higher level, as far as being in a book is concerned. How can you be of a higher level than people who are from the outside and could, technically, be familiar with the plot? I suppose they're going to explain it over time but it just left me a little confused.

I decided to give it a try only because of Cheng Lei but I'm really enjoying it so far, much more than I expected. I can't deny that there's something about the dubbing that rubs me the wrong way at times but not to the extent that it would ruin the drama for me, fortunately.

I really like how so far, it looks like the way things are presented in the novel that the FL remembers is not quite what they really are, and there's actually much more going on behind the scenes of the plot. And I really enjoy the lighter tone mixed in with more serious moments.

5 episodes in, I can't help feeling like I wish there was more police work and less personal lives. I'm not against the characters getting personal lives, developed backgrounds, interactions with friends and families but I feel like these work better when they have been established and the viewers had a chance to get to know them, grow to like them, get curious about them. Some parts just feel like watching a slice of life show where the characters just happen to be policemen. Its funny because usually, they focus too much on work and I wish they showed more personal lives of the characters and with this one, it's the exact opposite.

Perhaps it's just me but the captain's glass looks so much like a pitcher that it's a good thing they clarified he drinks tea because for a sec there, I began to wonder if he's seriously just drinking beer at work so openly lol

"It's been years, stop wasting your time" - how about you listen to your own advice? I officially dislike this motorcycle friend. He's not even subtle about treating her like a friend only, I really hope they don't plan to keep this thing going for the whole drama because she's just annoying, period.

On Legend of the Female General Jan 31, 2026
Out of the three ā€œfemale generalā€ dramas that aired in 2025 (at least ones that I’m aware of), this is the last one that I had watched. I’ve seen many people compare them to each other and I can’t help feeling that it’s unfair to these titles. Each may have a female general but in my eyes, outside of the obvious similarities that are here for a lot of dramas, not just these three, the plot is too different for them to be compared.

This one has landed on my list for no other reason than the fact that Cheng Lei is part of the cast, but I found it to be a very enjoyable watch. It’s one of the rare dramas where I didn’t find the female lead insufferable at the start; she may have been a little annoying at the start but nothing too bad. I really liked her arc - the determination to prove herself, reclaim what belongs to her, and show the world that she is no worse than men.

I only wish He Rufei wasn’t such a pathetic villain. The actor certainly did a great job with this character, I really enjoyed his performance and expressiveness (which, after seeing him deliver another great performance in ā€œWhispers of Fateā€, makes him an actor that I’ll be happy to see in other productions), but the character himself leaves a bit to be desired. Perhaps, if he had anything other than the feeling of entitlement speaking for his motives, it would be different but the way it was, he was a bad villain. Which makes me sad because I usually love my villains.

I also can’t help feeling disappointed by Chu Zhao’s arc. He’s one of the characters I really enjoyed, and I really liked how one couldn’t be entirely certain about which side he really is on most of the time. Him essentially making himself a double agent of sorts was great, and I liked that at the end of the day, he chose to stand against Chancellor Xu because that was what he believed was the right thing to do. And then, they completely ruined him by his rather bad attempt to get He Yan for himself and everything else he did in connection to that. In my eyes, it was a good place for him to understand that she never saw him in that kind of light, accept the friendship that they shared, and move on, possibly with him becoming part of the team and, while not being out there on the battlefield, having his own way to be useful and help as a great official. Instead, they completely ruined it and that’s probably my biggest complaint for this drama. At least they redeemed him a little bit by him understanding his mistakes and at least seeming like he regrets them, but the bad taste remains.

On the flip side, I absolutely loved the four that He Yan hung out with in Yezhou. I loved how they went from undermining her to being among her closest friends and willing to have her back, completely unbothered that she’s a woman. I can’t deny that this reminds me a bit of ā€œMulanā€, but it’s something I really enjoyed in the cartoon, and I would love to have seen more of them and their comradery in this drama. I was hoping they may join He Yan when she was leaving Yezhou to go to Rundu, and I may have squealed in happiness when they did. And they didn’t get killed off like a lot of lovable sidekicks in dramas that I have watched, but actually had gotten their little arc of becoming great soldiers themselves, so that’s another big plus in my eyes.

A great title that I really enjoyed watching and kept me interested pretty much the whole time. Definitely something I can see myself coming back to in the future.

I agree with everything you said. Im not even sure how to rate it. What would your rating be, what do you think?
I guess you could say that :) To be fair, I may end up changing my rating in the future, but I wanted to set it to something because I don't like things standing out without rating on my list, they annoy me when they stand out like that. For the time being, I'm leaving it at that and if I change my mind later - I'll probably change the rating :)

I was a bit stuck on what to rate it. In the end, I decided to give it 8.5 because for the most part, I genuinely enjoyed the drama, found the plot interesting, the characters had potential and most of them had personality, and there were some things I really enjoyed and wish we could see in more dramas etc. The things I mentioned in my spoiler comment are really my main complaints here, so it's not like I have a lot of complaints (just a couple bigger ones lol).
