Sorry for jumping in out of the blue but I think I could see that happen. Is that unoriginal? Yes but I can unfortunately see Li Mao going down that path, I think Xie Huaigui poisoning his mind has already started, and I imagine it will only be more effective when he realises that Xie Jiayu and Xiao Wuyi are getting closer.

So I could easily see that "fortune telling" being an accurate foreshadowing of events to come. It's very often not done by anyone, who is supposed to be a good fortune teller, very often by someone random or even a confirmed fraud. Is it an overused trope? Yes. But unfortunately, most productions don't seem to care about that.

Episode 8

Why do I have a feeling Xiao Wuyi’s injury is going to act up during that game for the provinces?

The more we find out, the more I’m hoping for a cute side plot between the Princess and Xiao Yao. I wasn’t sure about Xiao Yao at first, but I’m starting to like him more and more. It’s so clear she’s important to him. It would be so cute if they could find happiness together.

Is that Yuan Xiaole going to turn out to be Xie Jiayu’s actual father? It would make sense if he also designs stuff and all. But may also be a coincidence, I guess.

Nooo, why do you finish the episode in such a moment T___T

I'm so hooked, I already can't wait for tomorrow's episodes to maybe get some of the answers <3

Episode 7

Xiao Wuyi is the Crown Prince? I’m not sure how I feel about that. He doesn’t strike me like the kind of person that would be happy sitting in the Emperor’s seat. Though, in a way, that would explain why the Empress is so keen on destroying him, if she is aware of that identity of his. He sure doesn’t look surprised, so I’m really looking forward to the future episodes and finding out more, as well as learning more of his actual plans.

Xie Jiayu completely misunderstanding the tablets meaning is way too funny lol How sweet of him to recognise she had good intentions at least :) Drunk Xie Jiayu is just so adorable.

100% agreed. The balance is just right in my eyes and it works really well to unload episodes and moments that would otherwise be quite complex or intense.

"I'm here to save you" scene where Xie Jiayu proceeds to shoot Xiao Wuyi might be my favourite in those 6 episodes so far, but there are so many other great and incredibly funny moments.

Episode 6

So, Xie Jiayu is not his biological daughter, eh? That explains even more things. And poses some more questions too.

Ok, so Xie Jiayu’s mother doesn’t want Li Mao to take the throne. So the person she is trying to find is the other candidate, who everyone probably think has died long ago. Which of course they did not.

Oh, the blow to the head has not been forgotten, hurray. Good, good. Him surviving that is already leaning a bit on a plot armour in my eyes, but at least they are not having it as if it never happened.
3-5 years to live, and he feels like it’s enough? I wonder how soon he’s going to change his mind.

Honestly, the way the Empress is acting, I half expect them to reveal she is in collusion with some kind of enemy country. Does she not realise that what she’s doing is effectively only harming her in the long run?

Pei Runheng, huh? I don’t see that name on the cast list. Interesting…

The drama is just so fun. I already can’t wait for today's episodes <3

Episode 5

So this is why he was investigating the Young Master of Miraculous Craft.

Honestly, the father is the biggest surprise for me here so far. I’m loving it but oh my, oh my. Just how far back does the scheme goes, and how long has he been using his daughter like he had with that crossbow…

I can’t help feeling sorry for Xie Jiayu. Not only did she learn she got used that way, by someone that she had been close to her whole life, she also learns that her designing the thing led to the death of so many people.

I like how Li Mao gets disillusioned about the guy, too.

Though, I have to say, while I understand the principle of why you don’t someone to hold too much power in their hands because they can easily get rid of you, they are still undermining their own country’s military power that way. And it’s not like you can just flick your fingers and rebuild that strength in an instant, so if you go too far with that, you’re basically going to be sitting ducks with not much use for your position if you can't even defend yourself...

All of it is so interesting, I’m definitely hooked on the drama.

Episode 4

Why can’t I shake off a feeling that the Empress might be involved with the Emperor’s illness so that she can actually do whatever she wants in his name… [I don't actually want to know, I'm happy to learn everything as the drama airs.]

Interesting, interesting… I wonder how much Xie Jiayu’s mother knew of her husband’s plans…

Honestly, out of all of this, I really didn’t see it coming from Xie Jiayu’s father. He even killed that servant! I wonder how long he has actually been planning that. It’s an interesting twist and I enjoy it, for sure, but hoooly… The father and daughter relationship will never be the same after that.

“Your son”?! :OOO But, I suppose that does explain a few things… That was an interesting interaction for sure.

The traps, the crossbows… Such a shame they didn’t actually have someone enter the room and do the funny dance to avoid all of that lol

I love what they did in that scene where Xie Jiayu goes to meet her in-laws, hearing them speak before she sees what they are actually doing lol

The Empress is giving me such creepy vibes…

Episode 3

Aww, that heart to heart Xie Jiayu had with her mother.

Hahahahahaha, all the things she has hidden dropping one after another.

Oh, Xiao Wuyi’s entrance in that palace scene, a very nice one!

It's so interesting, honestly. It's so obvious Xiao Wuyi basically used Xie Jiayu's plan to escape as an excuse for his people to be out on the streets and everything. And Xie Jiayu thinking he genuinely failed to find her lol

And pray tell me where did I say that I think he did nothing wrong? Or even that I dislike the ML? As just because someone doesn't like some actions a character takes doesn't go hand in hand with that person disliking that character, the same way that if someone says they like apples more than oranges doesn't mean that they dislike either of them.

Episode 2

Wait, he’s married to the Crown Princess and doesn’t know what she looks like? “Nice to meet you” made me laugh so hard lol

The scene when Xie Jiayu is threatening to hang herself while her mother just prepares tea, and even suggests using a stronger rope and pointing out all the things she enjoys as she is about to smash them lol It’s so nice to see a female character with a family that actually cares about her, there should be more of those in dramas.

“I’m here to save you!” *proceeds to shoot an arrow straight into him* XDDD

“Old, ugly and never bathes” XDDD And then the realisation that it is him she was speaking about lol

I’m really loving the humour in this one.

I think Xiao Wuyi’s look is among my favourite of all HMH’s characters that I’ve seen so far. And I love the fight with the fire effects at the start.

Xie Jiayu’s introduction was too funny, haha. I was a little worried at first as I have a tendency to dislike the main female characters at the start of dramas, and this is the first drama I added to my list because of the FL rather than any other actor, but they’re putting my worries at ease. She’s shaping up to be very fun.

And there are five more episodes to enjoy today <3 Lovely.

Based on the vibes I get so far, Jeremy Xu's character is shaping out to be delightfully dark and potentially a bit of a psycho, which should be very fun to watch.

Whenever I like something the ML does, like the fact that he didn't bother to read the letter they intercepted, he manages to do something I dislike. I get being on your game, not wanting to fall behind but following the FL everyone is going a bit too far.

Out of all the princes, I think I like Prince Lie the most now. It's a shame I expect him to be hit with a ricochet where all of his brothers schemes fall apart, or at least eventually get involved. But who knows, we will see the direction that the drama takes.

I believe most of them are dubbed.

I think that's not an issue because, apparently in contrast to you, I am able to perceive the difference between fiction and reality as well as between an actor and a character. And to realise that just because there is supposed to be love between characters doesn't mean that there is love between the actors as it doesn't go hand in hand. Oh, and also the fact that love can be expressed in a lot of different ways, which don't have to be physical and crossing into any kind of overly intimate and/or erotic territory. And finally, that there are not going to be any overly intimate or erotic scenes in the drama because I'm capable of doing my research. So, since there are to be no scenes that cross that line, and two professionals are not crossing any lines which are not appropriate to cross given her age, how is that supposed to be an issue, or even of any relevance?

I have already shared it above. All one needs to do is click a link - move the little arrow that is brought into motion by moving one's mouse and press the button on the left side of the device. I can even provide a hint for which - the very top one and the middle one, and then understand the difference. But of course, first one needs to be open to learning new things and on top of that, possess this little ability called reading comprehension, and that I'm afraid doesn't just lie on the street to be found, but you are welcome to try anyway. Who knows, maybe you'll actually succeed?

I can't say I have something against Chen Heyi or anything like this, it's not really about the actor himself, but there is something about the characters this guy plays that I happen to dislike every single one of them from the moment we meet them. Perfect Match, Fated Hearts, and now Blossoms of Power... This Prince Yu just seems so sleazy with all these gifts and everything. And oh my, I hate his dubbing, the voice doesn't fit him at all, at least in my eyes.

It's nice to see a drama, where the FL's family actually appears to have her back rather than be the ones that are causing the biggest problems.

Dear ML, I see what you're doing there... It's interesting that you almost never cough or seem so weak and fragile when you're out but the second you're around the imperial family and everyone there, it's as if someone flipped a switch.

Still, out of all the characters, I think I like Tian Yuan the most so far. His interactions with ML and reactions to some of the things he does are fun! Seems like it's going to be another great character from Lester Lin.

All of these photos are lovely (thank you for them!) but I think this one may be my favourite. In my eyes, this may be one of the best looks for HMH out of all the costume dramas with him that I've seen.
