They aren't adapting the whole story. It will most likely adapt up to episode 63 of the dongua. Each episode of the donghua is about 15-20 mins. So with 30 episodes of about an hour's length each, the pacing should hopefully be fine :D
The Problem isn't The Fans. It's The Adoption girl. If they ACTUALLY PUT some work and got better cast and did…
Yeah, a lot of people in the comments seemed to think the hate came from haters of the actors. But it's hate of the adaptation, its not entirely the actor's fault, they were given a terrible script with butchered characters.
Lets hope that in a decade or so when people have forgotten about this, they try again. Make it drama and not a movie, and get a director who actually likes the book. And cast actors who fit the part better.
Most of the hate for this isn't about the actors, but about how the source material was adapted. Even if you've never heard of ORV before, it has a large fanbase. And as with every book to movie adaptation, book fans will always be very critical.
Imagine if for example harry potter was remade, but they changed harry's character to feel more like draco malfoy. Harry potter fans would be outraged.
Or imagine any book you like being made into a movie, where you watch it, and you get the feeling the director never even read the book. Instead they just skimmed through it, wrote a script based on a very shallow understanding, and said good enough. Of course fans will be critical.
July 27 they say. Brushing off the dust from my tent ⛺ Long time no see YY. FL isn't my favourite. But historical…
If this follows the source material closely, then the female lead will have very little screen time, and won't be in a lot of episodes. It is very focused on the male lead.
Does anyone know how much of the novel they'll be covering ? thanks
I've heard most people speculate it will end with him teleporting to the scattered star seas. Which according to the wiki means it will adapt the first 3 books. But i don't know if that's been confirmed.
I watched the donghua version before and didn't really like it. I hope they make the story deviate a bit from…
The fact that it's all about one person is why I like the donghua so much :D No annoying side characters with too much screen time. Very little filler. You know every character we meet is temporary , just like how the main character knows that on the road to immortality all relationships are temporary :)
The male lead looks way too old to play ye fan in my opinion. I'm a big fan of the donghua, and it just looks wrong to me. Wonder if this will ever even release...

A fan can hope :D

I was a little sad we didn't get to hear him sing again.
Can't imagine how they are gonna adapt this with such a small budget...
