It isn't dangerous to use those sites. Especially not if you use an adblocker. It also isn't really illegal for you as a user to use them. You won't get into any trouble, so use them if you want. Or can't find the show you wanna watch on any official platform. Sometimes those sites are our only option for some shows...

Usually with morally grey/villain male leads, they at least throw in a kind word or two, or a tender gaze. But I guess the male leads character is very set in his ways and not swayed by anything or anyone so far.

Oh wow so I still have 6 episodes or so of wanting to punch the ML in the face... I wonder how they'll redeem him. Usually drama writers throw in a few spoken lines of kindness or caring. or a look or two. But they haven't with this drama which I think is gonna make it very hard to later feel sympathy towards the ML.. I guess I'll have to wait and see.. Honestly the only thing keeping me going right now is Zhao Lusi, her acting is incredible.
This is the first drama I've watched in a long time where I genuinely dislike the character of the male lead. So far in ep 5 he still has absolutely no redeeming qualities. Does it get better? and when? I hope it's soon cause this is a surprisingly hard watch for me. I hardly ever have this problem when watching dramas.
Maybe we'll get subs once it's finished airing? Or maybe I'm just hopeful. It would be a shame for such a big production to not get an international release.
Honestly I feel everybody should give this drama a chance till like the first four episodes. It might take time…
I agree that if someone likes the fantasy genre they should give it a try. It had me hooked from the very first episode. People who expect a fantasy romance drama akin to Till the End of the Moon and Love Between Fairy and Devil might be disappointed. And while this drama does explore some of that in later episodes, it doesn't seem to be the main focus. I found the humor incredibly refreshing and well written and acted. Comedic timing is so important, and with just a few looks between the characters they've made me laugh :D So yeah, while I can see how some people might not like certain aspects of the drama, i think it's exactly those aspects that make it so enjoyable for me. And yes, the OST's are incredible, they add so much feeling and atmosphere to the scenes :D
So far this is one of my favourite Chinese dramas not just this year, but period. Watching this is giving me the feeling I had when I watched my other favourites for the first time... There's something incredibly special about this drama. It feels fresh, yet familiar. I don't care what others say about it. I'm very much enjoying it, and it's ticking all the right boxes for me :D Can't wait for more episodes :D
