That is exactly what we’ve been saying because a lot of us watching AOME have also been watching this one. The parallels to both are a bit uncanny and both because a burning landfill of toxic waste around the same time.
Apple of My Eye directing - what is this director trying to convey with his scenes? We have 5 episodes left and he seems to keep aligning the ML with the “returned from the dead villainous ex-wife”. Every scene you see the ML standing next to her instead of the love of his life, MiRae. Some scenes seem to be missing which makes others feel out of sequence. Lots of preview scenes were never shown. I have no idea or clue what this whole drama was trying to say or portray.

Just one more week to endure. At least TRHC is ending tomorrow. I am getting ready to watch today’s episode - I finally caught up to it. It happened to a friend of mine. He waited several years after his wife left him to file - mind you they had 2 girls together so it wasn’t like she disappeared - they still were in contact because of their kids - anyway, when he went to file, he found out she had divorced him several years before and he never knew. There are several places you can go to get a quick divorce. Korea has reciprocity with US for marriages and divorces so they both would be recognized in each other’s country. The only difference is if a Korean divorces in US they have to submit the paperwork to their consulate to get their name removed from the family registry - if they don’t the name stays until they do so but the divorce is still recognized, regardless.

You made very valid points about HD showing favoritism. She is favoring Jenny because her favorite daughter, SJ, is also showing favoritism towards Jenny over JD. The mom follows anything SJ says and does because she is, after all, HER favorite daughter. This is most likely why Jin Ju, the oldest, had her own place with SS and is in Canada and has not returned even once for the funeral or to see her own sister who was missing for 10 years. I am surprised she wanted her husband to move in with her mom knowing how toxic that household is.
In the end I would like to see all the men, JD, and YJ, move out and leave HD there, alone. She deserves it.

I agree. I have said it obvious the writers didn’t care about the character of Kang-San at all and it comes across to the audience in the most glaring way. And if they do not care, we also, cannot care. Another thing I have noticed is once SJ is told by JD that she doesn’t want to donate her bone marrow - instead of getting sorrowful and grief-stricken to the point of tears - as MOST mothers would at the thought of your child dying - she gets enraged. So enraged she starts assaulting her own daughter. This is not the reaction I expected to see - it makes me think she has some other ulterior motive driving her desperation.
