This is what happens when you keep secrets. The truth always comes to light sooner or later. You can’t keep your child in the dark and let them be blindsided later under the guise of protecting them and loving them. All it does is teach your kid that lying is ok as long as you stamp it with “Protection and Love”. The one thing I always told my son as he was growing up is “if you do something wrong, you should always tell me the truth, because if I find out you lied, your punishment will be much greater than if you had just told me the truth.”

Just like the year time jump on TRHC. Everything of importance will happen off camera. I see this coming because we have already had important moments happen off camera that we should have seen but didn’t. I’m already prepared for a very, very, very unsatisfying ending.

I, not so sure we get that reveal because it is one that will affect EVERYONE, not just KS and JD. We don’t have time to deal with everyone’s reactions and the repercussions. This may be one drama where that secret, is kept a secret.

I don’t think we will have a satisfactory ending that addresses all the issues.

KS has 10 years of abandonment and an ex that has a child by another man during that time. He has more power than he knows. He just needs to get off his pity wagon and start using his power.

I am I still trying to catch up - up to ep 45 and have been lmbo. It’s really crazy. Trying to hurry up and catch up so I can watch the final episode Sunday and be done! 😂

It just blows my mind that she seriously expects him to stay with SJ and raise a child by another man - I've often wondered if she knows KS is not JD's father. But that rant and tirade SJ threw over JD not wanting to donate her bone marrow didn't even seem like it was anger about that but about something more. A mother's first reaction would be crying and saddened to the point of grief - not angered to the point of assaulting your own child. Something is not right here with her motive.

MR had plenty of opportunity to reveal the other child too and she didnt take it. MR and KS are walking messes of missed opportunities.

Depends on the country. Korea has reciprocity with the US on marriages so yes, they would recognize a marriage in Korea if married in US and also a divorce in Korea if divorced in US. The divorce is a bit more iffy because it does require documents to be filed with the Korean Consulate otherwise that person would stay on the Korean Family register until the divorce documentation was submitted - but the divorce would still be recognized in Korea. So she absolutely could have divorced KS in America but never sent the paperwork to the consulate to have her name removed from the registry.

She has not. She has called him Kang-San-ssi. Thank goodness, cause I couldn’t take the whole Oppa thing.

I don’t understand why everyone thinks she committed bigamy. It IS possible to get a divorce without your spouse knowing.

Loelha is of the mind that KS suffers PTSD as someone who has been abused does. I believe she is right. That said, it doesn’t mean he should have stayed there. The redemption arc of his character should have been so much more. Like you said - counseling. We should have seen him get treated and become stronger so he would have had the skills and mindset to be able to handle SJ when she returned.
I think the concept of KS character was great on paper, unfortunately these writers didn’t know how to write him into a stronger character. They continued to write themselves into a corner, every single time. Like rmtaylor77 mentioned above - he was an inappropriate person for MR to ever become involved with, knowing full well they planned to bring the “dead” SJ back to life. They could have easily solved this with filing the death certificate, thus ending the marriage, or an investigation that proved she already divorced him…but they didn’t do that. Yes, SJ left him 10 years previously, abandoned him and their daughter; however, if the are truly still legally married (I still have my doubts but whatever), then SJ isn’t wrong…she would be the rightful wife and MR would be the other woman. This is how everyone is going to perceive MR for the rest of her life if the writers do this. They won’t care about the truth. Her reputation will be gone if they do not make KS divorced already. If this is the road the writers take then it’s truly gone from being a train wreck to a landfill of burning, toxic waste.

There is not enough time to deal with the fallout of that. It’s not something that can just be glossed over in anyway satisfying with 5 episodes left.

KS has learned nothing in his years of dealing with Sun Ju. She has had the upper hand since the moment she knew he was looking at her with hearts in his eyes. Over 15 years ago. To say she has him wrapped around her little finger is not even enough. He has let her come back like a tornado and wipe out the life he tried to build with JD and MR and now his very job is most likely on the line as well - which SJ wanted him to quit the job so she is essentially killing that bird too with her one stone.
He should have told MR the truth about Sun Ju returning.
He should have told JD the truth about her sister.
He should have told the Hwang Family about SJ being back.
He should be telling MR the truth about JD.
He should have told JD the truth about her biological father.
He should have told HD about Sun Ju’s pregnancy with JD.

Each and every time he has remained silent, SJ has beat him to the punch.
He has learned nothing.

I am not saying he is actually siding with SJ - it’s the appearance he is giving that he is. He has not stood his ground in separating from her or her family. He SAYS he is done with her, yet his whole vibe and his actions say otherwise - just like when he went to the restaurant and ended up sitting down while they ate - it didn’t matter that he only drank water - he should have walked out. He should not be going to her apartment without someone with him. I feel this is the director’s fault - he probably was going to ring the bell but heard SJ having a tirade and JD yelling and crying so he rushed in - had they shown the scene from his perspective in the hallway, we could have understood it better but this director seems to have this character emasculated in his direction as he is in the script by these lousy writers. It’s frustrating because I have no idea what this director is trying to convey except confusion. There is no flow or continuity.

I do agree MR is standing firm. Too bad her man isn’t.

I am just trying to figure out when she is going to find out his role in her brother’s death. So far the wife has finally found out the nephew is her son.

There will be NO satisfactory ending to this one. It’s going to be worse than an open ending or even a tragic sad one. I’d much rather torture myself and watch the sad ending of Uncontrollably Fond than to watch this pathetic mess - and anyone that knows me, knows I HATE sad endings.

I hated today’s episode. My irritation is, once again, KS.

Like Loelha said - walking into the house after getting angry with SJ outside, like they are a couple coming home together “I’m home!” From both of them. KS standing right next to SJ - he should have insisted she went home or walked over to his dad and stood. He looks like he is aligning himself with SJ.

2nd time - SJ states to JD “I remarried in the US and had Jenny. She is your sister.” Not once did KS bat an eye to that revelation, not did anyone else.

3rd time - when SJ was assaulting her daughter and KS comes walking in like it’s his home. He knows her passcode and used it. He didn’t ring any bell - and you can hear the code being punch in by the beeps it is making.

4th time was at the end - KS comes into the Hwang house, sees SJ and immediately goes over to her instead of standing by MR and aligning himself with her - he, once again, stands by SJ’s side.

I am over these writers AND the director.

Im forcing myself to for the ammo to write my scathing review of these writers.
