Loved the thai version cause of Fort and Peat, LOVE this version because of Masato and Shun! The chemistry is through the roof, and those eye glances just hit you right in the feels!!
I am not sure what this series intended.. 7 episodes of over-reacting comedy to all of a sudden giving NC scenes like some kind of Bed Friends light. I am confused! What exactly was this show intending to be?!
I watched this because I am a fan of TutorYim, it made me push through the not so stellar writing of Jade's over-the-top character. Their chemistry is amazing (only thing keeping the series going, really), they should have had the chance to shown it off more without the comedic interruptions.
The dynamic of Net and James was the only other good thing about this series, I will never tire of them! King's moon-eyes at Uea makes me melt every time.
I want to like it (because the boys deserve all the love and support) but this series was difficulty to get through.
I watched episodes 1-4 of this series, loved it. Looked up the webtoon, binge read it, LOVED IT! Watched episodes 5-6, had to go reread the webtoon to prepare myself for the inevitable. Now after episode 7-8 I'm dreading having to wait another week, but I can always reread the webtoon yet again!!
For me Cha Seo Won was the MVP of episode 8. His emotional delivery felt real and I was hooked completely.
I've read a few comments with complaints of dead-fish kisses and whatnot. As an avid kdrama watcher I've seen WAAAY worse (not limited to BL). I didn't feel like the kisses had any negative impact on my view of this series. I am really enjoying that they are going for a more cute, innocent kind of love vibe. I think the actors pull it off well and I feel the connection and chemistry. Not every love story have to be about passion and raw need, the argument "this is not how men act" is just silly and patronizing.
The mom being the villain is my only negative critic of this story. It would have still worked if she planned it all knowing that Korn's patience and levelheadedness would balance out Win's impulsive behaviour and together they would make a perfect pair running the farm. The fact that she did it to break her son's heart, then watch him suffer and alienate himself from everyone he loves, indirectly being the cause of a near-fatal accident.. No, that is not what I would call a "good" plot twist. And when she finally comes clean to hear children about her horrible choices, they just hug it out. No repercussions. The series is all about Win experiencing kharma for his actions, but his mom (who pretty much kick started everything bad) just get some tears and hugs and it's all good..
If it wasn't for this one thing it would have been a perfect series. The acting was on point and enjoyable, I liked the body switch plotline because it was done very well. The emotions of the characters and their journey (except the mom) was exciting to be a part of.
Worth a re-watch, tho skip the mom's confessional scene in the last episode.
