No, Tang San is not the protagonist any longer.

In fact, in these episodes, as time progressed, he has become wallpaper. This is a hero driven drama and yet the hero has no highlights.

Further development of supporting characters is fine. Further development at the expense of the protagonist is not fine. The worst offender is Xiao Wu but they all sucked blood from Tang San. The next two episodes are no different and you have passed over a quarter of the show.

Tang San's highlights have either been removed or given to others. Wait? For how long do you expect people to wait for the script to remember Douluo is Tang San's story. Oh and I highly suggest you check out the spoilers.

No, it didn't. The highest count of any episode was just slightly above 100 million and it is going down now. 100 is decent. A billion is nothing, it needs way more than that.

You have to remember, people who watch dramas are not mostly fans. Xiao Zhan fans may be willing to watch and wait because of him (I am waiting because of the book) but most people will give it 3 episodes and they are out if it doesn't grab them. And this show's highlights must be related to the main male lead. Instead they were either erased or given to other characters. If Xiao Zhan fans are happy to wait and wait, please do. Others aren't. I find it ironic because Xiao Zhan fans should be furious with this show and instead, they keep trying to whitewash it. He got scr**** by the script. Wake up.

An adaptation must be different, yes. It's inevitable with a show. The problem with what you say is that we went from Tang San the main lead, to Tang San, the wallpaper. The screenwriter has lost himself in trying to find creative ways to show supporting characters and build them up on Tang San's back. The main male lead is nowhere to be found. Don't expect this to change.

That was my point. This is a site where people will share their opinions. Not everyone will like even something that is a big hit. The number of people who dislike this here is an absolute minority yet Xiao Zhan fans are crying about toxicity, negativity and labeling people as haters. See, even you do it. He is literally the weakest, except for the food guy. Male lead drama has turned into a mess. In order to pad the support, the screenwriter has reduced him to nothing because he 1) never took the time to properly establish the lead and his character before branching out and 2) because some of the most important highlights were removed from the lead or given to others.

The more you post, the funnier it gets. Literally the absolute majority likes this drama and yet you are crying in the comments about the very few negative reviews. On a site that among other things, is for leaving reviews. Fascinating.

She only gets worse. And drama changed the original that she is now literally in every single scene with Tang San. Have fun!

I don't know what I just watched but it is not Douluo Dalu. As with every adaptation, changes are necessary but the core must remain.

The only thing Tang San from this show and the original Tang San share is the name. I literally don't recognise this character. He has been greatly weakened, mostly to prop up the idiotic bunny girl. The show switched leads and Tang San is now a wimpy, naive, uneducated, completely destroyed supporting character.

It's ironic that I worried about special effects but now they are my one enjoyment in the show.

You say effects are not good but literally the whole financial investment went into them. I don't know what you think you are watching. This isn't marvel. The effects are as good as it gets because this already cost a fortune.

It is not a low budget show. It started as one but Tencent had an additional, huge investment in it once Xiao Zhan exploded and they realised they had a potentially huge hit on their hands.
