You are mostly on the Right track, in ELOD there are no Yehua and Bain Qian scenes, sometimes jst the names are mentioned. Yes, ELOD has not missed the major TMOPB events like Bai Qian marriage, Fengjui being a maid and fox, mortal arc, but don't take the major part of story. Like they complete this till 23ep. After that the story is entirely different and new love story of Donghua and Fengjui. Also, the best part a HAPPY ENDING!!, I jst hope this clears your doubts and I get you, when I watched TMOPB, I dearly wanted the spin off and it is really really good.. You will love itʘ‿ʘ

I have jst seen Ep 25, Yes somewhere I also wondered she could have send someone else to retrieve the evidence but then realised the phonecall specified she should go in person if it's not a fake call. The airport conversation with Wen was pretty convincing and aptly represented her point. Well, it's a romance-sugary drama so that must be the reason for giving relation more priority. Also, I feel the drama wants to specify that when someone loves truely, they don't think abt consequences neither for logic but tends to sacrifice even the most precious opportunities jst for other person's well-being and happiness. For the ep 26, this even leaves me suprised, but need to see the whole ep for proper conclusion!

It's actually both, she is also falling in love with Dr., Meanwhile trying to reconnect with her long-lost friend. But, yes she accepts her feelings when he tells her he is the friend she was searching for... Well I feel you if you are a fan of fluff and sugar try till ep 12, if you feel while heading towards 12 it's just too much cliche to handle you can drop anytime!

Hi!! I don't feel there are bad plot devices becoz it's far from stupid conflicts taking episodes and episodes to resolve. Comparing to other dramas characters are far matured and the side characters story is also intriguing. Having a simple story and filled with cliches still it doesn't feel cringey and comes more on the sweet, fluff side. Yes, this show does come with its set of cliches and if you are trying to avoid that this might not be for you. Like, if you are trying to see logic in each movement, then you will be bit irritated. Still, if you are a romcom fan it's a must watch!! Ps: I am still on ep 24, so can't comment much on ending!
