Ahh I see. That's cool. Hmm...I'm not sure if I want to write one for I Hear Your Voice...I'm not sure I have enough to say. Haha. And I'm never sure what to say in my reviews, actually. What do you usually write in a review?

I've only written reviews for two that I felt extremely strongly about. I think I had another draft of one written up somewhere...but clearly I've sort of forgotten about it. Haha.

I don't know, but I guess that's part of the mystery! I'm waiting to see him supposedly reappear as a ghost in front of her and hopefully more of his mystery will start to unfold then, but maybe that won't come until later...

Yeah, I agree. I liked her better in Cheongdamdong Alice as well. She didn't really have much of a 'role' in Heartstrings, I feel...
As for Taecyeon, I thought he was a cool character in Dream High, but I feel like I'm seeing a different side of him in this one - kind of silly and funny as opposed to "cool," so I'm liking it. What do you think?

That's good. Wish I could've enjoyed it as much as everyone else did, but oh well...
I'm liking it so far. It's got a touch of mystery to it, and it's nice to see things from the characters' point of view as opposed to knowing everything that's going on. I think I'm going to enjoy it, and the actress (I forget her name) and Taecyeon are amusing me so-far. Haha.

Ehh. Cruel City overall was just...realistic. To be honest, it's the most boring drama I've seen in a while, I think. Everything was far too predictable for me, so I was never really surprised by any of the supposed "twists" or anything. Not too impressed with it at all, even though there seem to be a huge handful of people who say it's awesome. (I think I was more interested in the first three minutes of Who Are You than I was during the duration of watching Cruel City.)
What did you think about it?
And are you also watching Who Are You?

Thank you!

Yeah. I don't know, it still hasn't blown my mind yet. I'm kind of doubting if it will be able to in the last two episodes...
I went through last night and read the reviews people wrote about it, and down the comments and replied to one of them (someone else responded, and I just replied back)...
It's an okay drama, and I love the acting/portrayal of all the characters, but I don't feel "engaged." I just feel like I've been "waiting for things to happen" this entire time.
Care to discuss with me what's makes this drama so "great"?
I don't think I've seen a lot of this type of kdrama, but it hasn't really impressed me so far...

The synopsis basically tells you "she goes undercover," "they meet," "she falls in love," and you can assume that they're going to find out - and then all that's left is the ending. So really, ALL I've been waiting for since I started watching this was "the ending" because everything in the middle was bound to happen at some point. I guess I wanted something that I wasn't going to be able to expect at all - something that would take me completely by surprise.
I actually REALLY like the trailer, but the drama itself gives me a different vibe.
I see a lot of people saying that this drama is a "masterpiece," but I'm still not seeing it myself yet. For what it is, synopsis and "disappointment" aside, I LOVE how all the characters are being portrayed, and I agree that it is very realistic in the sense of the world they're in,
but may I ask - What about this drama is making it a "masterpiece?"

Well, I think the trailer/synopsis made it seem like there's going to be "more" between the undercover & drug lord. I don't really mean that I expected to see them have a relationship, go out on dates and live happily ever after or anything, but I guess I was expecting MORE of the leads putting each other at gun point. Like, finding ways to outsmart each other, playing cat-and-mouse, or something like that. I don't think I've seen a lot of this genre in terms of Korean dramas, but I can say I was definitely expecting more. Rather than waiting about 10 episodes for them to realize they love each other, and then another 7-8 episodes for them to now finally be AT gun point (those are estimates), I think I would have preferred if things HAD unraveled faster and that there was MORE to the storyline.

In my case, I had to wait far too long for things to pick up/the synopsis to finally kick in...I feel like I've been waiting for things to happen since I started watching - first I had to wait for the synopsis to kick in, then from that point on, it was just waiting for things to unfold...
I went in expecting great things since so many people seem to really like this drama, but 18 episodes later I'm still feeling quite indifferent...disappointed even. I admit that I've been looking forward to the romance the most, but at this point, the romance/ending is the ONLY thing that has been keeping me with this drama for a while now...

If there is anyone who would be willing, I would LOVE to have an in-depth conversation/discussion with someone elsewhere (the best method would be private message so not to accidentally spoil it for others) about this drama...

The beginning didn't hook me so well - I was waiting for what was said in the synopsis to happen, so it was kind of slow for me. I'm on Episode 5 now, though, I think things are starting to get interesting. :)
Haha, I'm wrapped in the blankets of Cruel City, that's why. XP

Ohh I see. Haha that's the funny part, I haven't had a first love yet. But I've watched lots of dramas, and I guess the quote just really stuck in my mind...

Oh cool. Close your account? Why?
My favorite quote?! That is probably even harder to answer than when someone asks me what my favorite drama is...hahaha. There are too many to choose from!
The first that comes to mind is I guess is from In Time With You. "There's a thing that's always going against us. Sometimes we really want to chase after it, hoping to obtain it. As if after we've gotten hold of it, we will be able to have many many things. Sometimes, we'll suddenly find ourselves being chased by it so hard that we can no longer breathe. And we'll suddenly wish that it will disappear and never to come back and find us again. That thing, is time." REALLY rough translation, sorry. (But I also loved that drama so much, idk if it's my favorite FAVORITE quote of all time...)
The second one that comes to mind is I guess about "first love" in Answer Me 1997...(I'll msg you.)

I guess? I just made it...a week ago. Thanks! I'm mainly just using it as a drama+quote timeline - every time I watch an episode/movie, I'll post so that if I ever want to know when I watched that movie/episode, I'll know. (I wish that kisskh would do this for me - but it doesn't. I guess it's still efficient as a list overall, though.) I also post/reblog an occasional picture or two, just cause I can't fight off the temptation. Haha...but it's supposed to be more drama/movie/quote-focused. Especially quotes. I'm still working on typing all of them up, but the translating is going really slow...there's 122 sitting in my queue right now and I'm probably like...about 1/7th of the way done. (that's a guess, obviously. I don't actually know how many quotes I've written down over the years...)
What about you, do you go on often?
