It was the opposite for me.. it wasn't until halfway thru the first half (around 6 or so eps in) that I realized they'd all been longer than the usual K-series running time of about 1hr-ish.. & I was like, well that means one thing for sure- these guys are so entertaining & involving that I never feel bored or tired! Guess it helps that I was watching the eps on Hulu+ so they just play straight thru & I never really looked at the time counter lol. After I'd noticed tho, I ;O & went back to check the running time listed under each ep on my Watch History page & couldnt believe it xD I love when I get more media material from awesome ppl! (as long as the writing's good)

@OddxTeru - I read this cmt before / right around when I started watching.. & because I got curious as to what it meant, I went & spoiled myself early on.. funny thing is tho, when I first saw BingRae appear on-screen, my first instinct was, ooo I'ma ship you with ~you! *points at the cutie who appeared right after him, aka ChilBong apparently, rotfl* (okay, the "cousins" thing hadnt come up yet, & besides, familial terms are used so often that it's difficult to tell when they're literal / serious, & 2nd, I'm still not clear on whether it was thru blood or marriage but eh, let's just ~my version didn't have to worry about all that, haha)

Also, at that point I hadn't really given any thought to NaJung or Sureki, aside from being annoyed by their extremely immature crazy bickering.. only rember thinking, these ppl are sposed to be college-age? REALLY?? pffft, lmao xD

Cue my heart being broken over & over the next 10eps or so, oyy! When the BingReki kiss happened, I was like, omgomgomg- it was the moment that I realized ~this cmt had smth to do with it & after coming back to re-read, it was then I went to look up info, even tho I didn't want to spoil myself, I just HAD to kno!! for sure that my heart was going to be actually taken there (finally o.o) & then be eventually broken into pieces, & sure enough.. siighh.

At least I'll always have my fannish OT4 dreams: where ChilBongi is equally loved in return, where BingRae is able to confess his crush, NaJung isn't so "hot & cold", & Sureki isn't such a "noble idiot" all the time, hehe.. & they all live happily ever after in domestic bliss! Yup, that's my version & I'm sticking to it.. (now we just need more fanvids & fic to keep those dreams alive, squee) <3

Note: I had ~not seen A97 first, but after viewing 20 eps of R94 & trying to put off the very last one, I- now pretty much fully spoiled for A97 from all the cmts on the DramaBeans R94 blog- went & watched every ep & aaww.. altho in my opinion nowhere near as epic as this one, it definitely had some good points & even some things done better, but I didn't get ~as emotionally invested (due to the main chars being more annoying than endearing- except for JunHee, who was ~adorable & definitely needed more cuddles! his love lasted over 10yrs!).. aanyways yeah just saying, lool wow chars really do inspire me to write a lot!

FYI, this is now on HULU! & omg, it is sooo cringeworthy lool, only seen the first ep so far, not sure if I can handle the rest tho I'd like to mainly just out of ~curiousity.. if only they didn't have such a tendency to exaaggerate eeverything (seemingly for "humourous" effect.. talk about FAiL!) & if the lead girl wasn't the whiniest baby ever! Oyy.. the boys ~are cuute tho, haha (of course) so at least there's that ;P

ETA @ 10/26: 3 eps in & the chars are totally growing me, I'm so ~easy LOL pfft! Night is of course ~adorable, & when Xiao Fei isn't whining, she's actually quite cuute, lmao.. but the scene stealer is definitely "Asian! Alan Cumming", he cracks me up sooo much! (well, he's kind of a mix btwn AlanC & Martin Short, which if you're at all famil with those actors, their characters tend to be just as kooky / odd / weird as this one, rotfl)

PS. An even better twist on the story would be if Mr Perfect fell for the neighbor boy.. lol, or if they could all live happily ever after in a cozy lil OT3 of domestic bliss.. siighh <3

Would also like to note that despite the ~intended purpose of the "perfect lover" (being a physical relationship without consequences/etc), such a companion would be truly perfect for someone who craves the same emotional intimacy but without the burden or pressure of having to fulfill those kind of physical needs, ie for those who are just fine w/o all that kind of stuff, "ace", etc.

If only a good true "soulmate" was as simple as an online order away, eh? xD

There are a lot of cmts already here that go in-depth over the various positives & negatives about the show, as well as reviews to help you decide whether or not to see it thru.. personally, I gave it a chance because I had fallen head-over-heels for R94 & was curious to see if A97 was as good as ppl cmt'ing on R94 recaps had said (over & over again, ha) it was.. yet I found myself disappointingly bored by the first so many eps! But I stuck with it to the end, mostly for JunHee's story, & even tho I (still) didn't get the ending I wanted, I'm glad I watched. Sooo.. depending on what you consider "good", best of luck with your own viewing experience! ^-^

Movies in the '90s were the ~best! Definitely never judge any media by its decade/etc, lol or you could be missing out on many great adventures ;P

MaeRi is a cheerful, bookish dreamer who just wants to keep going to college, but her father's endless debt issues have finally grounded her; to make matters worse, she's been laid off ("slow economy") yet again.

MooKyul is a (solo) street musician by day, & (band) club rocker by night, who just wants to keep his group together while still making unique indie rock & who'd rather put up with being uncomfortably cold & poor before selling out to become a popstar idol; with serious abandonment issues due to a youth-obsessed flighty mother, he's extremely passionate about loyalty & guards his heart very closely.

The "point" in remakes is the same reason why there's so many shades of every color.. because they all bring smth ~different, & that does not (always) have to mean "better" (altho of course, with most things there's always room for ~improvement, but how & in what ways tends to be ~subjective on the widescale), which is also dependent on who is deciding ~what is "better" & their own view of "quality", etc.. just like one colour can appear to be another one when viewed on a different screen. TL;DR, I'd rather smth be attemped just in case ~I might think it's awesome (or at least, ~parts of it, lol), even if it could end up painful (I do have my share of disappointments as well.. siigh). ^-^

26+hrs of cuuteness in 25 eps, yup thats an apt description! the writing drove me up the wall sometimes (& omg, way to overdo the angst!) but I'd probly sit thru another 100hrs if it meant getting more cuuteness (not only in looks either, but in overall scenes, interactions, etc etc) I'm just really rather ~insatiable ;P

YESS if ever there was such an OT3 worthy ship (in K-dramaland, anyways), this was it!! I mean, the boys clearly loved each other enough that if the 3 of them were to just actually TALK about how great they really are together, they'd certainly all have a wonderful life happy ever after xDD

Ahaha, I don't think those would work for me.. but I manage to mostly avoid burnout of any one theme or genre etc etc by simply keeping a steady routine of alternating eps from all my other various current shows, which I'm ~usually behind on so there's always plenty to watch.. ie: NCiS, H50, SPN, Being Human, Once Upon a Time, Once Wonderland, Grimm, Agents of SHiELD, Grey's Anatomy, & Days of Our Lives.. just to name the ~recent few ;D much more on my "ultimate to-watch list" tho! & many (new & old ones) added all the time..
