In the reaction of episode 2, Ta says: "the audience is going to hate me when this episode airs", and he couldn't be more wrong! I loved his scenes, he was really good and made me laugh when he interrupted the meeting whining to his father. He really pulled off the spoiled kid character.
You're not alone though, so don't feel bad... Addicted is among the first bl series that I watched. I loved it at the time, so much that I also read the books and loved those even more. I was much younger and didn't know better... and that's way more problematic than TT. To this day it's still a special series to me, the actors did amazing (I love them so much), but rationally it's one of the worst ones in terms of toxicity, if not the worst of them all. It's non-con all the way through.
It's not good lol But at that point, I had given up and decided to be shallow and watch it for the hot scenes and not care about the "plot" (the secondary couples were the worst for me). Manner of Death was airing at the time if I'm not mistaken, and also a few other good bls, so I watched it to pass the time while waiting for the other shows ahah I wouldn't do it again though...
That makes me so happy, because it's one of my favorite series ever. I still rewatch it from time to time, it's my comfort show. I totally agree with your description. It's one of the first dramas that I recommend. And I can't wait for Between Us! :D
That must have been... an experience! XD I was not fond of that drama... MewGulf were amazing, but that's about it... for me it was a badly written fanfiction (sorry to the fans of TT), so I decided to stop watching the series adapted from the works of that writer. I watched both season of TT though, and strangely enjoyed season 2 more... the non-existent character development really bothered me overall.
I wouldn't recommend it today, but it was everything there was at the time, with a few other bls. It has a really special place in my heart. It was my first thai drama too. I instantly fell in love with the language and culture when I watched it. I remember being obsessed with the ost (I still love it). Now, it just seems like another high school thai drama, and not even of great quality, but that's because bl has come a long way in the last few years. It's a classic though, and if you watch it with this info in mind, you might enjoy it.
I did! But first, I read the book, fell in love with the characters and story, then when the series started airing…
I guess! I think that the story makes you purposefully confused, because slowly everything has to come together. I really liked that aspect. You get thrown into a world you know nothing about and slowly learn about everything and everyone.

That's true, it was easily accessible at the time. But the first book is already out and the second one is coming at the end of May! Obviously, I couldn't not buy them, they're beautiful and it's my favorite story ever <3 I'm happy that we finally have an official translation. I actually started with the donghua! and it made me super confused, but intrigued at the same time, so I remember finishing the first season without understanding much ahahah
Has anyone of you watched The untamed? I tried so hard to love it but just can't get past ep 6 since 2 months.…
I did! But first, I read the book, fell in love with the characters and story, then when the series started airing I was obsessed with it and couldn't stop rewatching every episode. I don't know how it is to watch the drama without already knowing the story, but since many aspects of the story are censored, especially the most passionate love story ever told (ahah), a lot of the magic is taken away from it, so I totally get why some people can't get into it. For me, the leads really brought the characters to life. So I recommend reading the book to get the motivation XD
