Title isn't really about them being obsessed about each other, it's more complex meaning. The're obsessed with keeping their appearances and sticking to social contract. This isn't movie about them falling in love but more about how people react to strict social rules, how they feel, what they do/think when they have problems fitting in social roles chosen for them.
What type of movie is this ? there is no genre specified
it's comedy. but since there's motive of looking for their mother there are also drama elements, but still you will laugh most of the time and at the end you should feel better (like after reading/watching something from "Iyashikei" genre)
any feedback on this drama please..? I want to know how makjang/melodrama it is, if its totally over the top i…
well it starts as a typical makjang-melo but after a while it starts to be quite funny and pleasant to watch (but not all the time, as soon as melo elements come up it's kinda cringe worthy like any other soap opera)
ok, so for example "A Bittersweet Life" is very similar to "The Man From Nowhere", both of those movies are noir-influenced movies and portray strong masculine lead (who is also ascetic). You just have to look at other revenge-noir-inspired "jopok" movies, then you will see how many motives and schemes from "The Man From Nowhere" appeared on screen before
you wrote it as if "The Man From Nowhere" was in any way original, there were dozens of korean (not to mention foreign) movies with pretty much identical setting
but in my opinion they are just graphomaniac creations ;p
the best reviews are on those sites: http://www.modernkoreancinema.com/ and http://koreanfilm.org/
i am merely trying to popularize korean cinema ;)
