BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GENRE CONTENT
I AM sucker for psychological romance that subverts people's expectations -
Frankly is the story/plot or premise very fresh - not really. And frankly it could be more layered and more fleshed out - but as of epiosde 5 - I can tell you even if the writings is not super layered - the performance and over all treatment did get layered.
I also would like it if they wouldnt force some twists just for the sake of it- subversion works only if it is not a trope and frankly so far it doesnt feel like one.
Yes, audience can pick up on certain thngs- a bit of foreshadowing or letting in on the "secret" - that is very intntional - it is not bad writing. The writers Want us to find out before the characters - and that iaa exactly the frustrations that writers want from us.
Having said that. - I truly hope they keep peeling the layer of the character that han Sol ah>>>
Coming to the the othet character- Yes- the ML could have been written better- it is obvious that his obsession hasnt been completely justified- But I know this is just 12 epsidoes and since audience are also glued in to get some "chemistry" between the characters- the writers had to throw in some absurd reasons for his obsession - without taking the time to justify it.
Fair enough- we have watcjed enough romcom where the LEADs just happen to be around for the ML to catch the FL who is complete stranger- and we are fine with that. Cmpared to this- premise is atlest beleievable of why they meet- they even give us a sneak peek into his REAL first impression of her --- he was already caught by the Siren befre he could firue out wht was happening.
There is amazing potential for the The chemistry between the characters- I wish the actors could lean into the roles and their characters attracttion for each other though - rught now it feels like they are reading it off of the script and performing the chemistry (AND YES IT STILL LOOKS TANTALISING)- rather than feel it- like the actors arent convinced of their roles yet.
NOW coming to to godawful subject of the actress and her weight -- as a person who has been udnerweight her whole life- I cna safely say YES WHAT YOU GUYS ARE OBSESSING OVER IS VERY MUCH BODY SHAMING.
Firstly- i hear she did this on purpose- secondly - are we so blinded by our set standards of what aperson SHOULD look that we cant settle for anything that doesnt confirm . Seriously GET a life and enjoy the SHOW. IF. you watch drama certain"Aesthetic" - there are plenty of shows out there where the Leads looks almost a copy of each other with nothing tnotice but boring "perfection". and photoshopped faces.
