I haven't decided whether or not I want to finish this one. Chang Hua Sen is awkward in this role for some reason but, that's on the director. The story isn't bad.
The beginning episodes are BRILLIANT. The middle became slow, and not so much to my liking. Score = 6/10
100% agree. I was impressed with this until about ep 12 and It suddenly changed into total cheese complete with the most ridicules unconvincing villains. I feel like I'm watching a completely different series at this point. Very disappointed. These producers need to stop ruining good stories. Joining a long list of series that I've dropped this year.
Better than I expected. Normally I complain about overdone music in many of the current productions but this one actually did it right. I went away from this feeling happy. Good story.
Was this bad, no not at all. Another demons vs whoever scenario so not really classic Wuxia but another Xianxia genre which are somewhat rampant these days. The story however was unique and interesting with many twists and turns. Very good cast as well. This is not a romance story which shouldn't be a requirement for every series out there anyway. As per usual I will complain about the incessant need to play up the singing anytime something that's somehow suppose to be significant happens in order to make an emotional impact , fortunately they waited until the last few episodes so not as terrible as others. Worth watching for something different as the plot will keep you in a lot of suspense with what's going to happen next.
Decent story but not sure if i can tolerate much more of hearing the music score every 5 minutes. They are even singing over the dialogue , very poorly done and weak attempt to play up sentiment. I'd like to focus on the story, not listen to an endless soundtrack. That being said, He Lan Dou is excellent in this.
Dropped about half way which normally isn't the case with anything Yang Zi does. It just wasn't my cup of tea so to speak. To make it short, it became unbearably boring.
Well said 💯 .. I agree about their cinematography. The dark vibe is increasingly felt since the opening scenes…
Most modern C Drama's that are tagged Wuxia unfortunately have very minimal Wuxia elements in them. Classics that are based on actual Wuxia stories written by authors like Jin Yong for example are more true to the genre. The Condor series, Demigods and Semi Devils, Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre are very good and have been made into drama series or movies countless times. A good place to start might be with the series Laughing in the Wind, a bit dated but a true classic in the genre. Unless your a fan of schoolgirl level romance or watching a series because your idolizing male leads, in that case most of the modern so called Wuxia series would fit that category and don't contain too much depth. Aside from that many of the modern C Drama's are actually Xianxia which is usually the run of the mill demons versus immortals or an alternate universe type of setting. They are very popular these days. For true Wuxia fans it's tough to find a good series but what's interesting is when they do make one they are extremely popular. This person has some good content on her list https://kisskh.at/list/z1d8od91
So when does the fl actually starts feeling for ml as I can see in beginning she's just approaching him for her…
It's starts early on but it's a slow roll for a while. I would say that if anyone's on the fence about finishing it because of the drag, the story is good and has some really good plot twists so it's worth finding out what happens but, you might have to ff through some of it like I did.
