You must really know the FACTUAL*** things about India...I'm an Indian and I wasn't really offended by that scene...but…
Nooo, actually that's not the caste system. That's just positive discrimination to help those who have been oppressed and tortured and denied basic rights for centuries. The caste system is very much present, as you said. 😭😭
But I agree they didn't even research about it... They could educate themselves before writing about it? Ngl I did think it's kinda insensitive. 😅
it's okay Indians ko apni bezzati feel nhi hoti kabhi kyoki izzat hi nhi h koi🤣
I think they didn't disrespect Indians and that wasn't their intention anyway. I'm still defending those who thought it was insensitive to make fun of such a sensitive topic. Because ngl it is kinda insensitive. 😅
Just because Indians discriminate doesn't mean Koreans can discriminate too 😂
Well, it's a sort of criticism. People are just saying what they don't like. In this case, I think they don't have the power to change anything 😅
And I'm sure Indian dramas (serials) have done that too. But I'm okay with people saying that it's wrong because if we don't, it will never change and the filmmakers will keep making movies based on prejudice. I like this kind of criticism 🤷🏾♂️ as long as they're not hating unnecessarily.
they are even racist to their own race but still have the victim mentality . And in this kdrama they showed them…
Well, Indian film industries are dumb af 🤷🏾♂️ some filmmakers try to be sensitive about such topics but a lot of times they're not and stereotypes and prejudices find their way into movies. Indian movies are getting better tho but I say if Indian movies show another country in a bad light, then their citizens have every right to be offended. I don't defend those movies.

Way to generalize!
It was a bad representation tbh. When Korean media shows the Arab world as dangerous, people get offended. When they show Americans as school shooters, they get offended. When they show Africa as a poor continent with a lack of water, people get offended. And it's pretty normal to be angry when you realize you're not getting the accurate representation in the media. Indians have the same right!
Btw, India has a LOT of good things, I'm sure we don't need to see the Indian caste system in Korean media, especially because of how sensitive this topic is and how Korean media just makes it look like a joke?
And also, just because some Indians are racist, it doesn't mean Korean screenwriters can be racist towards them?
And "showed them at the top" isn't a good enough argument.
so you didn't watch Alchemy of souls? GO watch it 😭
I don't like historical dramas and AoS isn't really a historical drama. it's more of a fantasy and it's so so so so so good! You'll forget the setting and start caring about the characters. It's pretty funny and if you liked mr queen, you'll like it even more.

Oh, and Indians have every right to get offended.
