Seven years later this is still a good watch
There are some cheesy acting moments, especially in the fighting scene choreography.Other than that, this was divine. The story was interesting. The chemistry of the main and second couple was great. The mains were so so good. Their interactions felt so sincere. The second couple was adorable.
The story wasnt entirely predictable but it wasn't outrageous either. The flow was good and the emotional peaks and valleys were earned.
I'm glad I decided to watch this one!

The music alone makes this worth watching
Damn, the music is good! And I can't find the entire OST! Please, for the love of humanity, release the soundtrack in its entirety. It's really that good.I love the chemistry between the leads. The acting was good. And actor Jeong Ri U just does it for me. He is so handsome and his voice is so sultry.
They could have leaned into the dom/sub aspect more but I won't complain too much about that. When it was steamy it was so good. When it was sweet it was adorable. When it was painful it was brutal.
The story could have had a better flow. There were some unnecessary plot lines. But overall I enjoyed watching these two.

Watch the second couple through episode 8 then bounce
Ugh. This was so painful. And let me be clear, it was painful before the writers completely gutted the best part of the story. The 3 best things were the second couple, the Black support character, and the kids.
I liked the main couple's acting but I hated their story. It was a strained premise that was made worse by drawing out the unearned resolution for almost the entire series. Ridiculous.
The second couple gave me life. I tuned in specifically to follow them. But the writers destroyed it unnecessarily but literally killing their relationship. The same point about cherishing the one you love in the moment could have been made without offing one of them.
My other complaint was the misses on the NC scenes. Don't act like we are seeing everything because the timing is too short to be the real deal. It feels weird. And dont get into impossible positions. Its distracting.
Overall, blech. Decent to great acting was wasted on a crap script. So annoying.

This pulled me in more than I was expecting and didn't let go
This popped up while I was looking for my next Netflix watch. I loved BKPP in I Told Sunset About You—the acting was incredible, and their chemistry was almost unbearable in that series.I haven’t seen the Taiwanese original of this one, so I didn’t know what to expect, but it ended up being a really satisfying watch. The comedy worked well, with strong timing and natural chemistry, and the drama hit the right emotional notes without feeling overdone. I especially enjoyed watching the gradual warmth develop in their relationship. Grandma was a standout and added a lot of heart.
The story included a few twists, but nothing felt out of sync. Even when I knew what was coming, the emotional moments still landed because of how thoughtfully they were handled (and the acting).
I enjoyed this from start to finish, and no scene felt wasted. Highly recommend. I’m only taking off half a star because it came a little too close to body‑shaming one character, which stood out in an otherwise enjoyable film.

End of mission is so important...
I was so ready for this. Vampires. Men kissing. BounPrem. Barcode. And the rest of the cast as well. And I was totally into it for most of the series. But the ending was so rushed and unsatisfying to me! It was building, building, building then BOOM...over.I was invested in the main characters. I was invested in the side characters. I enjoyed the plot twists. But then it just stopped.
I'm rating it fairly high because I really did enjoy the ride...until it abruptly ended.
I need a second season or sequel.

I wasn't sure I liked it at first but I've returned to rewatch many times
This isn't scintillating or cutesy or hot or overly dramatic. But I guess I liked that because I keep rewatching it. The story softly undulates around these two characters who seem to just crash into each other. I really appreciate that it doesn't lean into the coming out trope. It's just quietly telling the tale of two grown men falling in love and navigating obstacles. There are a few cringe acting moments but overall they did well. I enjoyed it.Was this review helpful to you?
Could have had a more thoughtful ending
Full disclosure: I watch way more BL than straight drama so this was already at a disadvantage. But that's also part of why I gave it a fairly high rating; opposite sex, same race couples are boring to me yet I kept coming back to watch this one.I'm surprised by the amount of hate this is getting, but I understand why some folks are disappointed, especially with the ending.
I like the idea of this show. The representation of the devil as having emotions, a backstory, and a sincere purpose. The evil that men do, and the price of complicity (duplicity? ). Families are complicated. Etc. And I didn't totally hate the execution. But, there was room for improvement.
I wanted more of the assistants story. I really liked them a lot. I wanted more of some of the other characters too. It was so focused on the mains that we missed out on some of the interesting and fun side stories. I wanted a better ending. I'm all for the happy ending, but don't pull it out of thin air. It needed to be stronger and more grounded in the weight of the story. They wrote a suspenseful drama and gave it a rom-com finale that was tied up a little too nicely even by that standard.
Also, I don't know why, but it took me a VERY long time to finish this one. It was months of starting and stopping, but not for any particular reason. I think I just found other shows that were more interesting and this is the one that got paused. Again, I'm more likely to be watching BL so this is probably a me thing.
Overall I enjoyed it, but I doubt I'll re-watch any of the episodes.

You should watch this one
Not mind blowing but a solid entry in the sparsely populated gl space (compared to the booming bl market). I like the gl couple a lot. There were some annoying narrative problems where some characters acted, well, out of character. I dont like when the writers manipulate the story to drive certain outcomes when it makes everything seem unbelievable and ridiculous in a not fun way. There are a few of those moments in this one.Overall it was a good watch. I have enjoyed MuTeLuv. This isn't the best installment (which for my money is Love Me If You Swear), but it's still pretty good.

I wanted more of the love story
It was an interesting series with lots of twists and turns. The drama part was pretty good, but I wanted more of the romance. Not raunchy NC scenes, just more physical indications of their closeness. It felt a little like they (the writer/director, not the characters or the actors even) were a little squeamish about going all in. Its too bad because I think it would have balanced out the tragic or violent aspects. A little more love would have gone a long way! That said it was a good watch. Was this review helpful to you?
The yearning nearly killed me
This made my whole body ache. The persistent longing between the leads was so intense. Sometimes with a series where the mains are yearning but not giving in, I lose interest or start rooting for another coupling. I never strayed from the path with this one. Also, this series has one of the hottest intimate scenes I've ever watched, but its not explicit. Just raw emotion. How do you even do that? Good writing, good acting, good production.
My shallow side would also like to report that the mains are both very attractive and have great chemistry.
Definitely watch this one. It's a classic.

Perfection was snatched away from us by a lazy and unsatisfying ending
OMG! I was so close to loving every second of this! It was so human and the emotions felt so real. It's one of very few series to actually make me cry. I was 100% involved with these characters, including the second couple. But listen, writers, the ending is mission critical! And the whole thing, everything we experienced together, was ruined in the final 2 (2.5?) episodes. Poof. Gone. It was so good while it lasted.
I'm sure lots of people were like, it was a beautiful happy ending. But there was some manufactured drama followed by an unnecessarily tidy bow to tie up their story that I found extremely disappointing. Maybe others love that (the reviews do and dont bear that out) but I loved these characters before they turned into a poorly executed bl trope. I loved them when they felt totally authentic and their imperfections helped create that.
Honestly, I felt like the actors knew they were getting a bad script/story near the end because there were a few cringe moments in the final episodes where they didnt seem committed to the (ridiculous) storyline.
And what about that second couple? Why did their relationship evolve almost completely offscreen? I wanted way more content from them! I liked their whole thing and wanted to see more.
Dont get me wrong, I'm glad I watched it. And I absolutely recommend you watch it too. But damn, it was so close to perfection and then it suddenly and deeply wasn't.

So beautifully done!
Almost perfect! Just, wow! The feels be feeling. This is a good story. The acting is good. The costumes are good. The sets are good. The locations are good. There was a good mix of humor, drama, suspense, romance, etc. The main couple is fire. The second couple is fire. I love the supporting cast. Chuay is my hero. I love both moms. Just so many good things happening!
My very small complaints are with production issues. A few too many zany sound effects. And the sound in the NC scenes was sometimes distracting, which is a real shame because they were beautifully done.
I was crying at the end! It really hit me in my soft spot.

This is so good and I cant wait to see more episodes!
This series is adorable in a grown ass men adulting sorta way. They are incredibly funny. Their platonic energy is amazing. They have great chemistry. The comedic timing is great. It's so real and also so hilarious, but not childishly zany. It's a friend group of grown men living their grown lives, experiencing grown problems, and having grown conversations for grownups to understand. I feel like I know them, or like I could find them IRL.In addition to the fun, they are discussing real issues of friendship, dating, and self esteem. It's funny but it's not fluff. Perfection!
My only complaints are the short episodes and the timing of their release. It's making me crazy! I'm invested in what happens to these guys!

I came for Jeff and left craving JeffGameplay
I'm surprised by how much I adored this series! It was basically a long ass commercial for a Thai supermarket and yet somehow I fell in love with it!I loved listening to Jeff sing. And that song is so beautiful! I loved watching Gameplay cook. The food looked amazing.
You know what else was both beautiful and amazing? Their chemistry! Dear lawd, they were so sweet together! It was a gentle, slow burn that made me blush for them. It felt so wholesome and so sincere. It was like the young folks version of Life in Smokey Blue, although it lacks the depth of that series.
And as someone who is very familiar with Jeff Satur through other shows and his music, I have to say that I REALLY liked this version of him. He's always a sweetheart (even as a gangster in KinnPorsche) but this was more than that. His messy hair, natural face, slightly thicker frame were all so soft and beautiful. Dont get me wrong, polished JS with perfect hair and makeup is super hot. But he was so effortlessly sexy here. What a natural beauty.
I want more of this series and more of Jeff and Gameplay. I realize I'm getting neither, but a girl can dream.
It was a good and low stress watch. If you're like me, you'll enjoy this more than you were expecting!

This is a must watch
The actors are great. Mile and Apo's chemistry burns like fire. Its so natural, too. They ate in every show I've watched them in thus far. At first I was mesmerized by Apo because I love a melanated man! But the more I watch Mile, and the more I see them together, I really love him too, his looks and his on-screen presence.Build, I miss you so much! I'm not in the weeds enough to know the whole story but dammit!
Bible is peak sexy, deliciously evil, and intensely emotive in KP, and yet I've also seen him deliver perfectly timed comedy elsewhere. I enjoy watching him act. And no one should be that beautiful. It hurts my eyes. Again, I like a man with a little seasoning.
Jeff and Barcode were so cute but they wounded me along the way.
And Tong. What can I say? Such a perfectly executed performance. He's one of my favorite characters in KP. Tong, if you're reading this hit me up because I'm pretty sure we are fated lovers. Give me your LINE ID so we can work out the logistics.
There are so many good scenes. Emotional, suspenseful, sexy, and deeply humorous. There are also a few writing fails, but nothing that ruined it for me. Amd the music is good! A must watch for BL aficionados.
