Just watched the first episode and something about the reporter (choi miryeo) annyos me lol. Rn I can't rlly stand her but the first episode is good and interesting, i will continue to watch :D
As excited as I am for this (especially D.O in a villain role) I'm not sure Chang wook will accept the role. He just finished the action drama the worst of evil and said himself that he didn't actually want o do so many action dramas since their exhausting etc. So for him to choose another drama in the action category so shortly after seems slim. I would b very happy if he accepted it tho since he is a great actor, especially in action (ironicially enough)
I don't mind toxicity and toxic relationships but there is no need to let a 15 year old act out 18+ scenes, especially rape ones. There was no reason to cast a 15 year old for this adaptation, after all they new what the origin of Heroin is so they know the type of show. Big miscast if they don't do a big toned down version.
You don't need to read the Manga but I recommend it. The Manga is absolutely fantastic and much better than the movies. Junji Ito is a master of his craft. All of his Manga are excellent.
Lmao around the end ~1 hour and 9 minutes ish, when yamamoto is walking u can see the fucking mic of the crew in the upper right corner lmao that took me tf out. Other than that, like the majority of live actions of anime or manga it's pretty meh to even bad. Not to forget that in my honest opinion nothing can ever recreate Junj Itos masterpiece manga. You lose a lot of that horror and unsettling feeling outside of his own drawing style etc. The anime adaptation was pretty bad bc of this too. It's not the worse movie out there but I would stay away fropm it if you are a huge fan of Junji Itos work like me lol I'm still probably gonna watch every single movie of this "series" bc I'm curious.
So it's not only incest but also pedophilia? Japan doesn't surprise me all that much anymore tbh or anything atp rlly. Might watch it later someday, I do like my dark stuff, though the "adult-minor relationship" tag is pushing it lol.
I just noticed that he plays one of the main roles in the BL "A distant place". I started the movie and the moment he came on the screen I was like "wait a minute, he seems familiar!" yep, he plays hyun min the lover of Jin-woo.
