In similar vein to this drama and soooort of your article, I remembered https://kisskh.at/30365-perfect-youth…
hahaha rip, it was bit hard getting used to it in the beginning, I think the episodes later got better to be honest? Maybe because I find it easier to relate later (they start planting mushrooms and some people goes to work in Fujian). I think you haven't seen the Fujian characters yet? (think they appear in ep 7 or 8) Their accents are great and absolutely hilarious, and much closer to what I'm used to hearing too. Watch one ep at a time maybe? Even if you don't finish it, you gave it good try!
I just saw the synopsis, the 1966 makes it kind of confusing since the drama is set in late 90s lol. It's even later than both Like a Flowing River.
If you are enjoying this show, you may enjoy this vivid real life story of China's earlier efforts to tame the…
In similar vein to this drama and soooort of your article, I remembered https://kisskh.at/30365-perfect-youth I didn't watch it because it looked like suffering, but it was rated pretty well on douban so I remembered it.
i think the best thing about changing to robotics from gaming is Wu Liao. Wu Liao is just so damn cute!! need…
Wu Liao-like robot are used in banks and i think in some museums in china to help with general inquiries, I've seen some funny clips of them, not sure if it's programmed speech or if someone is answering more difficult inquires behind the robot (I've seen both explanations).
Currently watching Season 1. Probably going to watch S2 afterward but just one question: WHY IS THERE NO DEMO?!…
demo wasn't overly important in the novel iirc, while 97 is, I remember more about inin than demo, and GGS didn't have inin. demo's actor might have other engagement and didn't care to reprise his role here?
This actor was just wasted as Ying Si! He should have been saved to play Yin Zheng. Or even if they used him again…
ahahah I like him as Ying Si! Ying Si is super cool, could definitely have used him as Ying Zheng, or Qin Empire 3/s Zhang Bo would work too, who also played Sun Quan in Three Kingdoms (2010).
Tbh, I think there’s something wrong with douban. I see the rate, and I seee many one star reviews ; therefore…
Are you talking about the short comments, that only makes up of not even 1/3 of the total ratings, you can rate without commenting. The different stars with percentage adds up, it's fairly easy to find other dramas rated 7 with similar percentage, it doesn't have abnormal amount of 5 stars either.
Basically, I guess not enough people care to downvote it, they are simply refusing to touch it. Douban definitely have its water armies but if they are here, these ones are smarter than most of the other ones and they aren't super significant enough making a 3 drama into 7. (i would have predicted a 6 with downvoting, high 7 without the controversy, which matches the shape of the current ratings)
For interest, you can look at If There is No Tomorrow 我是余欢水, which had one terrible dialogue in the last ep that set off analysing its misogynistic roots (you can argue the writing is a bit) and consequent downvoting. it's sitting at 7.4 with 8.9% one star, similar to MHH's 8.2% one star. That one actually started at 8 or high 7 I think? and dropped and there was bit of upvoting to 5 stars to combat the 1 stars too.
I heard this drama has higher popularity & rating than Douluo Continent in China lol..Tbh, its Good btw..
higher rating isn't particularly difficult, popularity is little hard to say since it's on two different platforms, but this definitely have a wider reach since it's mostly comedy.
can anyone tell me if i have to watch gogo squid 1 to watch gogo squid 2?
nope, it's better off not to to be honest, since the details are different, and directing of the drama, career focus and some characters' personalities are different.
Why did they change it from LoL to robot fighting? It's still odd to me.Did everyone just suddenly re-saddle into…
It was never LoL to begin with, it's a fictional group shooting game in the novel, CS:Go (multiplayer shooting game) when they filmed GGS, ctf (cybersecurity, not gaming at all) when they aired GGS. They changed the career probably because they wanted to air on tv to reach a wider audience, all the gaming esport dramas are webdramas and have fairly limited audience.

douban ratings have always been influenced by controversies. this latest one happened in january, it's too recent, it's also tangentially connected to this incident where a female author spoke up about being harrassed in events, and bunch of male authors just attacked her going "not all men", even though she didn't name any names. zhui xu's author was one of them, AND THEN he mentioned "i didn't really think about female audience", I sort of understand what he was saying, but it's just hilariously bad PR. If the drama wasn't adapted this well, i would have dropped the drama like a firebomb tbh.
Did Zhang Ruo Yun lose some weight? He look thin in 1st episode and I think Guo Qilin put some weight to look…
Yeah ZRY lost some weight before filming snow sword stride, Maybe because his wife gave birth and they were losing weight together? Or he got used to feeding everyone else with his cooking. This drama's cameo was done when he filmed SSS.
Are there any relationship history between Ai Qing and Hua Ti / Slide? They seem to be very close.
they are very close friends, not romantically linked at all, although some novel readers said hua ti has a crush on her? I totally didn't notice so it's real subtle.
you don't need to. it tends to confuse you since there's career change + bit of personality change as well as cast change. watching it might supplement some background story that you might be curious about, but you can always ask here, unless you can separate the two dramas really well.
I guess we are already in the sequel at ep12 as they talk about HSY's wife (TN).
they call her "da sao", sister-in-law, but you also call your bro's girlfriend that, it's not sequel yet. Timeline-wise, if we are reconciling the two version, it's before they date, but 97 and One misunderstood their relationship. (between GGS ep 4 and ep 7) ep 13 = Chinese New Years = GGS ep 8

As for JoL's bgm, it's intentional comedy for some people, they think it's brilliant, while other find it rips them out of the drama.
