I have a question - when did Prince Helian realize that Zhi Wei and Wei Zhi were the same person? Because as far…
Ep 33? 3x, the one where Ning Yi almost got derobed in court (his lineage was in question), Helian Zheng was essentially a background post for most of the scene, but he was staring at Wei Zhi. Then afterwards, he caught up with Wei Zhi and Ning Yi talking and he was hinting about marrying Zhi Wei or something to see their reaction, he was fishing basically, and got it confirmed. ZW and WZ do have the same face after all, she only gets away with it because most people never see Zhi Wei, basically everyone that do finds out.

watch the rise of phoenixes, NiNi acting's is really amazing. the series is slow at beginning, because it has…
Lol, both depressing and suffer from pacing issue. Although I guess NiF2's pacing issue show up later. (I do recommend both...) cdrama isn't that good at light romance I think, there's a couple pretty good school drama though, if you watch those. My Huckleberry Friends is my go to, but it's light on romance and more down to earth than expected. mhmm Gank Your Heart or Young Blood (idk if this has subs....)

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I'm on episode 5 and still don't get why people love this drama to this extent.…
You are not alone. I actually watched the drama for the friendship and the flashback/team solo that lot of people complain about because it adapted the parts of the other book in the series that I liked more. The adaptation is actually bit better than the book in showing female lead more, and round off some plot holes.

Drama only got a 7.0 on Douban, way lower than the anime's 8.2 there. Does any1 know why?
Complaints about promotion tactics, dissatisfaction with Ye Xiu's casting and some changes to plot that lead to slightly different characterisations (common issue with adaptations and I think it's within acceptable range). Note that drama have a bigger base than anime on douban generally speaking, and the scores shouldn't be compared across. I personally look at 7+ for cdramas and 8+ anime if I looked at douban scores.

Doesn't exist on any music platform and not listed in the credits. I honestly get the impression they didn't get permission to play the Cantonese version so they just did that.

Guys I need help! Does anyone have a link to the drama version of the song HSY keeps listening to? I know it's…
I can't find it in Chinese either lmao. The lyrics are the same as the Cantonese version and that's the version the book refers to too. The actors were singing the Cantonese version and dubbed over. (Usually when you do a Mandarin cover, the lyrics are different because they rhyme differently. idk what's up with this drama.....this song trips me + many people up so so much)

Anybody knows the title of the song sung by the K&K youngsters for Mi Shao Fei after the competition (episode…
It's the same song they play whenever Team Solo is together, Beyond's A Brighter Future 海阔天空. Mandarin cover, I'm not sure who sings the version in drama. It weirds me out so so much and I keep mentally replacing it with Cantonese version since the lyrics are the same.

Title Go Go Squid!
Dropped this after episode 34. I compared it too much to the novel that I became so unsatisfied with it. But now…
While I agree it dragged towards the end, especially if you are only interested in the romance. The 40 episodes does include all three novels in the series. If you care about the friendship between team Solo, episode 36 is pretty good payoff I think. If not, then it's pretty fair.

I think Li Xian was better in Tienstin Mystic (available on netflix) and I liked Yang Zi more in Ashes of Love. I really didn't like the initial setup/characterisations for this, novel or drama.

Ummm. Su Cheng isn't HSY's boss, she's his business partner's wife + team leader. I don't know where you got the idea she's rich, she's not. She was broke and not doing well, and thought Xiao Ai would do better with Team Solo.

How do these Chinese come up with the idea of not airing during weekends? Is that not when everyones got the time…
It's when a lot of stations have variety shows and special programming. Even the dramas that air might get less episodes or different scheduling.

Also are there any good historical cdramas kind of with the same vibe as scarlet heart ryeo or hwarang?
Have you seen the original Scarlet Heart? I don't think RotP is a bad start to historical, since other people have started with Nirvana in Fire, a similar serious, political focused cdrama that's not SO heavy it's difficult to get. I've known people that started with either and loved them. But it really depends on your taste.

I want to ask if in the novel Luo Zhi was written as someone who is popular and very pretty or has that kind of…
She did really well at school so she was reasonably popular I'd think. The book was written from her POV and heavily focused on her feelings, so it's little hard to gauge. With You's Luo Zhi have been previously criticised by book fans for being too outgoing, actually. But I feel she could have been like that with Geng Geng, hell, with anyone that wasn't Sheng Huai Nan. She's pretty easygoing with other people in this drama too.

Put Your Head on My Shoulders and Le Coup might be more your thing if you are looking for fluff dramas.
Since you watched With You, maybe My Huckleberry Friends, by the same company? Not really fluffy though and it still leans down to earth slice of life.

On Unrequited Love Jul 17, 2019
Fairly close to the book since the author was the screenwriter and did parts of the directing after the previous director flaked out. It's a fairly down to earth series, but like the book it suffers from fair few misunderstanding and melodramatic bits. It also feels fairly anticlimatic, and lacking focus due to sheer amount of characters and their rather complicated love lines. I know it's to show different outcomes of unrequited love, but it resonated less than the book for me, there were too many bits where I just eh. Okay watch but not amazing. Luo Zhi is pretty great, even though I feel both leads could use better haircuts.
