This, Alice, Sisyphus... if there is one genre the Skoreans can't get right yet its sci-fi. Something like Kairos…
I still can’t believe I watched all of Alice. I literally blocked it out. Although, I have to ask: have you watched Circle? One of my favorite dramas. Best I’ve seen sci-fi-wise in Korean dramas so far, although it’s not perfect sci-fi I think it’s very good. The story and characters are great too.
Agreed. But slightly different point of view towards KSJ attitude. Yes, he was cold, rude, ambitious, busy but an…
Yeah, that’s why I mentioned it wasn’t exactly the same because there were other issues and factors too. (The wife has always been WAY worse than Seojin. That’s why I said he wasn’t the best... He wasn’t necessarily bad and part of it was probably Hyunchae’s fault). But there’s still a parallel and I just wanted to mention it. My comment was already pretty long, though, haha, so it did not have the best wording.
The ending of episode 14... Dogyun is a tragic character. Even after finding out Hyunchae was going to abandon him, he still blackmailed Seojin because he thought he could still have a life with her and then literally DIED for Hyunchae.
Now, before I say this, I know it obviously doesn’t excuse Hyunchae and Dogyun’s actions because nothing can excuse that. Not even Hyunchae’s sad past/relationship with her father. But it’s just something I noticed...
There’s a parallel between Seojin in the first episode when he lost Hyunchae and Dabin and Hyunchae in episode 14 when Dogyun died. Their situations are obviously not exactly the same... but... Seojin was clearly not the best husband/father at the beginning. He loved his family and knew he did, but it was obvious by how Dabin acted that Seojin was not around often and was cold, distant, and maybe a bit mean at times. But when they died, he sobbed and realized what he had and that he should have done better. Basically, “you don’t realize what you have until you lose it.” It’s similar for Hyunchae and Dogyun. I think Hyunchae saw her relationship with Dogyun as just survival (is that the right word...) and manipulated him for years. But when he died, she sobbed just like Seojin did in the beginning because she realized she actually loved Dogyun. She realized what she had but only after she lost it.
Episode 2 was even better than the first one. I’m really curious how the writer will go about both leads being able to communicate in person as well as through the phone. Aeri is alive and well in the present (September), so Seojin can visit her in the present (and she’ll remember what they talked about in the past) and communicate with past her too. While Aeri is going to visit Seojin in the past (August) and communicate with him in the future on the phone. This makes things even more interesting.
Also, I wonder if the “kidnapper” revealed at the end of episode 2 (4) is actually the real kidnapper. If he is, I wonder how Seojin caused his daughter’s death. Obviously, it was indirectly (maybe something to do with that building collapsing that Seojin was in? No idea). Seojin’s daughter showed up in the past where Aeri was, so I feel like this guy is probably an accomplice and there’s more to it. It’s also possible he’s lying. Who knows. Also, Dogyun and Seojin’s assistant seem sketchy to me. I think they could be involved somehow or just know something.
And I also want to know what happened to Aeri’s mom. It could be connected to Seojin’s daughter’s disappearance. Great first two episodes, so I hope it stays good!
When Yeo Na release the shaddy guy it was so annoying. And Wook who lost his opportunities to tell detective Shin…
I feel like this is a neutral area. I was irritated when Yeona released the conman, but at the same time, I understand that she's really desperate. Not the best choice though aha... Aghh when Wook just blurted out to Joonho that Yeona is dead I was like oh no. Joonho definitely reacted like any normal person would. I can understand why Wook blurted it out because Jongha was in danger while Joonho was taking a call to find someone Wook knows is dead. But yeah that was obviously not the situation to say that. I wish Wook would have told Joonho about his fiance earlier, but it can't be that easy I guess. I just imagined someone coming up to me and telling me they saw a village of ghosts whose bodies are missing. I would already think that person is crazy and then imagine that already crazy person having the audacity to include your fiance in that. Yeah, Joonho would eventually start to believe Wook and they would work together, but I get why Wook didn't tell Joonho the truth. But it is still kinda frustrating. I just can't really be mad at any of them because I can understand why they did it even if it was a bit frustrating.
Someone please tell me if it’s worth the watch? It looks really good but don’t want to waste my time if it…
I love this drama so far! I was expecting it to be darker like OCN’s usual style, but it’s not that dark. That’s not a bad thing, though. It has comedic moments and emotional moments, but the mystery and fantasy/supernatural aspect is still veryyyy good. I definitely recommend it!
Also, I advise you to just watch a drama if you find it interesting and not worry about the comments too much. If a drama is rated extremely badly, then yeah maybe you should avoid it lmao. But everyone has different taste, so you’ll never know if you like it unless you just watch it. There may be dramas most people love and vice versa, but there are always people who have the unpopular opinion too. Just give everything that interests you a try!!!! And ignore the people who comment complaining about people’s ears......
There is definitely NO romance with his mom haha. But the second FL, Kim Doyeon, seems to like Jingyum in a romantic…
Yeah, he is. He only showed emotions when his mom died and when he saw her again 10 years later. Also, he was worried when Doyeon was attacked. He cares about her, but it only seems to be as a close friend as of right now. So I doubt there will be romance. But since Doyeon seems to like Jingyum, there could be hints. Probably one sided haha but still.
Going from the old synopsis and poster I thought this was thriller + time travel romance between Kim Hee Sun and…
There is definitely NO romance with his mom haha. But the second FL, Kim Doyeon, seems to like Jingyum in a romantic way, so there could be some hints of romance between them in the future. Romance isn’t one of the genres, though, so even if there are hints of romance, it won’t be that much.
When he refused to go with her to get another drink, I knew something bad was going to happen to his mom.. :(…
The doctor said the part of his brain responsible for emotions was too small. But his MOTHER died. He may be practically emotionless, but something like that I imagine would cause him to experience emotions. But after the time skip to 2020, he still appears cold and more emotionless.
His mother is from the future. In the beginning, his mom and her boyfriend go to the year 1992 from the year 2050 to retrieve a book. Then, she finds out she time travelled while being pregnant. She decides to stay in the past and raise her son while her boyfriend goes back to the future. When her son is in high school, she dies from getting shot by that red drone thing. I assume it must be against the rules of time travel or something to stay in the past where you don’t belong.
Since she’s from the future, she’ll still be born and she’ll be alive when her son grows older. She tells him to avoid her because it would probably cause an issue with time if they meet (he might cause himself not to be born, etc). At the end, that’s his mom, which must be why time froze.
1. Yeah, I think the accomplice claimed he killed the village foreman on the tape. I think that he might have…
Well, I don’t know for sure, but it seems like the real accomplice is trying to make it seem like Hyunsoo is the accomplice. Everybody thinks that Hyunsoo is the one who killed the village foreman. They even suspect him of being his father’s accomplice. In the tape, the real accomplice mentioned why the village foreman died, which makes it seem like he’s the same person who killed the village foreman. That makes it seem like he’s Hyunsoo.

I thought this was genius. Good job, writer.
