I haven't read the novel but from what I have seen the FL is career oriented and likes her independence. Right at the beginning of the drama it's shown that she gives up her stable job to pursue her dream to be a writer and is shown to achieve success in the 5 years as a writer. Then when she is faced with plagiarism accusations she doesn't bow down to stress but stands her stead strongly and decides to deal with it head on using legal support. Unlike Cen Si Si she is upright and doesn't use shortcuts for fame. Even in the later episodes she is seen wanting to deal with things like sorting her housing etc herself. Even in her relationship with the ML , as a client and as a crush, she is working with him together trying to sort out legal issues and her emotions rather than play cold or hard to get. I hope in the episodes to come they continue to progress defintely in their personal relationship ( despite the third wheel) and also professionally. Sweet drama in my opinion.

FL is noticing this change but since she believes hers was a one sided crush she is still in doubt about his intentions. The fl has clear boundaries. However she can't ignore or cut off sml fully because of a favour. Despite being a celebrity he took a blame which tarnished his reputation but saved fl career and reputation. BTW I am non chinese and have had no issues with Mango subs.
I love Miles Wei in modern dramas more than in historic ones. I think suits him better.

Lady revenge returns from fire was 😬🤣😬 He has been acting for almost 10 years, with very average resources mostly with Mango and with no backers. Even his agency is not high profile. Its commendable he made it to this stage and is in "form" right now. It seems he doesn't have top tier people for makeup and styling like those with better resources. Make-up and styling is everything for period dramas. But in the last two years, it started getting better. White Cat Legend and Fox Spirit Matchmaker were not bad. Liu Chang was hot 🔥 and Yan Ke styling also seems a perfect fit for him. He instantly feels like a brand-new character with a fresh personality, and he's incredibly handsome without feeling repetitive or out of character. He has one Tang dynasty drama with Xu Kai wrapped and styling is good. Another period drama starting in April. Hopefully its as good if not better. Both as main leads. 💖💖
