I swear who in their right minds would like to call this "Meow the secret boy"
@Naccu, of course. Just requesting that users don't submit name changes. Since we've had several in the past few hours.

I swear who in their right minds would like to call this "Meow the secret boy"
It's universally known as Meow: The Secret Boy. It appears with that title on Viki / Hancinema / AsianWiki / DramaWiki / Soompi and many other sites. Please stop requesting a name change on this. Thanks.

Nr 49 (Hana Yori Dango) and 80 (Gokusen) can't be anybody's first k-drama because they are Japanese dramas.....

Is it not enough that we verified our email to make sure we are "humans" and are not gonna abuse this site? I'm…
@naccu, pretty much, if you feel comfortable verifying your account, go for it. If not, don't sweat it. If you're an older, active user on the site, then we will use other means to verify your account.

Ayy this is awesome!Just a question, if we do receive texts from MDL past the verification code, how do we report…
Not to sound rude, but you won't. It's that simple.

Will it affect my MDL account in any kind of way if I don't? I'm not comfortable with putting down my number on…
It won't affect your MDL account in its current form. We do plan on rolling out some new features in 2020 that will give verified users more overall 'abilities' on the site. However, non-verified users will always be able to use the site, add dramas to their lists, write reviews, comment, etc. The features we have at the moment will always be there. In addition, any non-social features added in the future, will also work for non-verified accounts.

Edit: In addition, we will have other means of verification in the future.

We do understand the safety concerns some users may have, and so we want to clarify a few things.

We do not store phone numbers! Instead, what is stored is a highly secure hash algorithm known as a 'cryptographic hash.' This is done to the extent that anyone looking at this hash won't be able to recognize it as a phone number or much else for that matter. However, our system will be able to recognize what it is and be able to prevent spammers from using one number to 'verify' multiple accounts.

In regards to being sent text messages, besides the initial text containing the verification code, no other messages will be sent. This means that there will be no spam messages nor targeted messages.

We have no intention of ever forcing it on any of our users. It's opt in, and should remain that way.

Would we be allowed to remove our phone numbers (and subsequently the verified checkmark) when we desire and without…
And yes, you can remove your phone number [and the check mark] at anytime.

Gotta wonder if maybe there are some better holiday-watching shows that didn't make the cut, not being available…
Of course, this is not an authoritative list by any means. Feel free to mention any titles that you think are better suited for the winter holidays.
