This was extremely disturbing and horrifying

It was just ridiculous. The writing, the production, everything. It was nothing like season 1. All the beauty and magic was gone.

Thanks for that review. I have to admit that I really enjoy(ed) watching the show. I’m currently watching it for the third time. But ... you are right. About everything.
Compared to the novel though this is nothing. The novel is on a completely different level of fucked up though. Couldn’t finish it. It was disgusting. So unfortunately it’s a rather tamer version of the novel.
The potential was definitely there though and I’d like to have my own head canon about them
