I love this so much. It brilliantly captures the strength, resilience, and heart of He Yan while staying true to the spirit of the novel. Its balance of gripping intrigue, sweeping battles, and unforgettable romance makes it a drama worth watching again and again.
I watched Blossom mainly for Li Yun Rui, who perfectly embodies his character from the novel. Unfortunately, Meng Zi Yi’s appearance, voice, and overall portrayal feel like a major departure from the source material. The novel remains far superior to this drama. The storyline is overly cliché and often dull—though the occasional action scenes offer brief relief. Overall, it was more irritating than enjoyable.
I am conflicted with this drama. The FL is too weak, too soft, and spineless. Instead of she will be served as an emperor, she’s the one who do the serving to her palace maid. And, what’s with this powerful eunuchs? Are there no generals or nobles left to counter this or other Princes (not the biological brother)? And why abdicate or abandon the position, does she thinks that no one could find her? She’s an emperor, after all, and troops could be mobilize just to look for her. And why are they on their foot? Just plain stupidity.
Further, how can an emperor kneel before a eunuch? Did she not know the palace rules? How can a eunuch be above them in status? Ridiculous!
I don’t like Huang Hao Yue for the role… too soft.
I watched her for the first time in Ten Miles Peach Blossom and I liked her role in there, same with her role in Legend of Fuyao. However, I got tired of watching her in Novoland: Pearl Eclipse, playing and acting like the other two Cdramas, aside from the fact that she was too old to play for the character in Novoland. Dropped the drama right away. And then, I rewatched again her role in Legend of Fuyao and find her character ridiculous. So I guess, I cancelled watching Yang Mi in any other current or future Cdramas.
I am in episode 7 and i lost my interest. I dropped it from there. I kinda find the female character so irritating and the story has no substance at all.

I skipped from 8 to the ending. Sigh….
